American Idol: Sir Elton John night . . .

Tonight, the Idols take on the songs by the great, Sir Elton John.  And with two contestants being eliminated tomorrow night due to the judge's one and only save being used on Casey last week, the idols will have to be perfect with their song choices and in their performances.

And here's how the performances went:

Scotty McCreery sings Country Comfort and it is a perfect song choice for him.  I liked his performance tonight so much better than last week.  And what a sweet shout out to his Grandmother, I think it's safe to say that he'll be back next week.

Naime Adedapo gives I'm Still Standing a cool reggae interpretation and although it wasn't vocally perfect, I  loved it.  I just really enjoy Naime's positive vibe and she is always so entertaining to watch.

Paul McDonald sings Rocket Man and I thought he did a great job with his song choice and with his performance.

Pia Toscano sings Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me.  Yes, it's another ballad again, but I love her song choice and I loved her performance yet again.  :)

Stefano Longone sings Tiny Dancer and I thought he did much better than last week.  He was a little shakey at the very start but he picked  it up and did a great job the rest of the way.

Lauren Alaina sings one of my favorite Elton John song, Candle in the Wind.  I always seem to think of Princess Diana every time I hear this song because Elton sang it at Diana's memorial services and it was such an unforgettable moment.  I have to agree with Randy. I think it was her best performance in the competition.

James Durbin turns on the heat with Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting.  It was a great song choice for him and a high energy performance.  Oops on the pepsi moment. :)

Thia Megia sings Daniel and I thought she did a great job.  I think Thia is one of the best vocally, but I feel that because she doesn't have a really unique or big personality on stage she doesn't stand out from the other contestants enough which can hurt her in the votes.  I still really like her a lot.

Casey Abrams sings Your Song.  Taking the advice from the judges, Casey has a near complete make over, took it down 10 notches and left out those crazy growls for tonight's performance.  Wow, what a difference a week makes.   This is the Casey I really enjoy.  I'm so glad, he's back. And I love his new trimmed and toned down look.

Jacob Lusk sings Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word  and in true Jacob fashion he delivers a very emotional and fabulous performance.

Haley Reinhart sings another favorite of mine, Bennie and the Jets, and she rocked it out tonight!  Totally agree with Randy.  Haley was the best of the night!  I loved it!

I thought all of the contestants did a really great job and it is almost impossible to rate them.  But since I want to continue what I started, here's how I rated tonight's performances:

Haely Reinhart
Casey Abrams
Lauren Alaina
Scotty McCreery
Jacob Lusk
James Durbin
Pia Toscano
Paul McDonald
Naime Adedapo
Thia Megia
Stefano Longano

Good luck Idols!

And that's my Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

PhotoHunt: Cage (d)

I took this up close and personal photo of a very beautiful and friendly riding horse.  He was in a stable that was located right next to this Cheese making farm that was part of this group tour I took during my visit to Amsterdam (November 2010).

American Idols:

Wow, Awesome Results show!  Jennifer Hudson looked and sounded great, Stevie Wonder singing one of his classics and a special Happy Birthday serenade to Steven Tyler, the big Hulk Hogan ripping his shirt and tossing Ryan Secrest into the audience, the Judges one and only Save was used on the very deserving Casey Abrams so no one got eliminated last night and we have the first American Idol Top 11 Summer Tour!  I loved it!

And that's my quick Results show Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

Amsterdam: Seeing butterflies in the most unlikely of places . . .

You have no idea how much editing I had to do to give you these colorful butterflies coming to you from the lovely washroom in the Sex Museum in Amsterdam.  :)

The mirror or should I say mini movie screen is located above the wash basin and so as you start to wash your hands, this scene (yes with a guy & a gal) comes on, nothing really naughty except that they take their clothes off . . . and then out of nowhere these beautiful and colorful butterflies come flying out.

So as you can see, some washroom (WC) experiences in Europe and while traveling for that matter can be quite entertaining as well as an adventure. :)

Fellow Slow Traveler and blogging friend, Girasoli (Shave Ice & Gelato) told me about the Sex Museum in Amsterdam and so I visited it while I was recently there last November.  I'm glad that I took her advice and went. :)

And by the way, while trying to find a link to the museum in Amsterdam, I happened across an entire list of sex museums on  Wikipedia located around the world. Who knew!   :

But there's much, much more to Amsterdam than sex and butterflies, so stay tuned for more on my look back to this amazing City.  More to come . . .

American Idol: Idols sing Motown hits . . .

Combining soul, blues and R&B!  It's Motown night on Idol!  This week's show is important because the top 10 secures themselves a spot on the American Idol Summer Tour.

And here's how the performances went:

Casey Abrams sings Heard It Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye and receives generous remarks from all the judges.  I thought it was good, but it wasn't his best performance. I thought the violin players was a cool touch. :)

Thia Megia sings (Love Is Like A) Heat Wave by Martha and the Vandellas. It is an upbeat song which is something that the judges have wanted her to do and I thought she did pretty good.  She looked very comfortable on stage and was pitch perfect.

Jacob Lusk raises the roof with You're All I Need to Get By by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.   For me, this was the best performance of the season. Not only did he get a standing "O" but it got Steven Tyler up out of his chair to give Jacob a hug.  And if that wasn't enough, the whole front row, thanks to Ryan Secrest, got up to also give Jacob a hug.

Lauren Alaina sings You Keep Me Hangin' On by Diana Ross & the Supremes and although Jacob's performance was a hard act to follow I thought Lauren did a great job.  Randy said that she's got her swagger back on and I totally agree.

Stefano Langone sings Hello by Lionel Richie. I thought he did good, but I have to agree with the judges in that he didn't quite connect to this song as much as he did with the song he sang last week.

Haley Reinhart sings You Really Got a Hold on Me by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.  One of my favorite Motown songs and I thought she did great.  The judges loved it and so did I.  I think she is to the girls what Jacob is to the guys  (well, not exactly at the same level). . . old school soul!

Scotty McCreery sings For Once in My Life by Stevie Wonder.  I'm a huge Scotty fan, but I wasn't really feeling his performance tonight at all.  I guess blending his Scotty country vibe with Stevie's Motown classic just didn't work for me.  Oh well, I still like Scotty, I think he should still be safe and he did afterall make that long basketball shot. :)

Pia Toscano sings All in Love Is Fair by Stevie Wonder and I thought she did another great job.  Yes, it's another Ballad, but she performed it so well.  I like JLO's comments, maybe Pia needs to change things up by raising her energy level and command of the stage. I think she needs to get a bit of her swagger on too. :)

Paul McDonald sings The Tracks of My Tears by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles.  It's not quite at the same level with Adam Lambert's performance  from last year, but he does have his own unique style and I enjoyed it a lot.

Naima Adedapo sings Dancing in the Street by Martha and the Vandellas. Another one of my favorite Motown songs and wow, was I entertained.  Loved the drums, loved the dancing, better vocals from her previous performances. Definitely the total package tonight. Excellent!

James Durbin sings Living for the City by Stevie Wonder.  This was the perfect song choice for James.  I loved his performance. He really did it justice and James demonstrated that he has some pretty cool dance moves too!

And here's how I would rate tonight's performances:

Jacob Lusk
James Durbin
Naima Adedapo
Lauren Alaina
Pia Toscano
Paul McDonald
Haley Reinhart
Thia Megia
Scotty McCreery
Casey Abrams
Stefano Langone

And that's my Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

I was saddened to hear about the passing of the very talented and generous humanitarian, Elizabeth Taylor. Her star will shine on brightly forever . . .

PhotoHunt: License Plate

So what's the next best thing from posting a photo of a cool and interesting looking license plate?  Well . . . that would be posting a photo of a cool and interesting looking car behind a not so cool or interesting looking licence plate. He, he . . .

I found this cutie while visiting Edinburgh back in 2009.

American Idol: Songs From the Year they were born . . .

Tonight, Idol announced that a portion of the proceeds coming from Idol song downloads will be going  toward helping the relief effort in Japan, through the American Red Cross.  Anyone else interested in donating directly to Red Cross to help, can do so HERE

Tonight, the Idols are asked to sing a song from the Year that they were born.  Before each Idol took the stage they showed a brief interview clip of their parents sharing some great stories about their childhood.  :) Another cool addition to this season's Idol show.

Here's how the live performances went:

Naima Adedapo sings What's Love Got to Do With It by the amazing Tina Turner.  JLO was probably the most critical that she has been this season and I kind of agree.  I still love Naima's personality and what she brings to the Idol stage so I'm hoping that she gets enough votes to move on.

Paul McDonald sings I guess That's Why they Call It the Blues by the great Elton John.  Even with a cold, I thought he did great.  I loved it and will be downloading it, sending some love to Japan.

Thia Megia sings Colors of the Wind by Vanessa Williams.  The vocals were just Okay?? Randy, dude!  I thought she did great. It's a safe song for her, yes, but to her credit it was a very well performed safe song.  And how sweet that she stuck up for her former vocal coach "from hell" saying that the scenes with her giving them hugs weren't aired.

James Durbin sings I'll Be There for You by Bon Jovi.  I loved learning from his mom how this rocker used to sing and play with his doll when he was a little tike!  So cute.  I agreed with Randy that he was a little pitchy but even with that he has such a presence on stage I was very entertained and enjoyed his performance a lot. Btw, the secrete is out and it looks like we'll be treated to a live performance from Aerosmith this season.  :)

Haley Reinhart sings I'm Your Baby Tonight by Whitney Houston.  I haven't been a really big fan of Haley and this wasn't her best performance, but I still enjoyed it.  She is the only Idol so far that has really varied her choice in music style and song choice and unlike Randy I'm beginning to appreciate it.  But I also agree with Steven that it would be cool to hear her bluesy, R&B, soulful style  again.  I'm hoping she gets the votes to stay so we can see more of her.

Stefano Langone sings If You Don't Know Me by Now by Simply Red.  Outstanding!  One of my favorite songs and he sang it perfectly.  More love to Japan . . . .downloading this song too.

Pia Toscano sings another Whitney Houston song, Where Do Broken Hearts Go.  She changed it up this week with a more up beat song and I loved it! I'm sure that her Grandfather is looking down on her and is very proud of her.

Scotty McCreery sings Can I Trust You With My Heart by Travi Tritt and "Baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low" Scotty McCreery who clearly got his musical talent from his parents, nailed his performance.  IMHO, definitely top 5 material.

Karen Rodriguez sings Love Will Lead You Back by Taylor Dayne.  I was a bit distracted by her big hair, but enjoyed her performance much better than last week.  I thought this was her best performance in the competition.

Casey Abrams sings Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana.  For the first time in the competition, I didn't really like Casey's performance.  Maybe it was more the song choice than his vocals.

Lauren Aliana sings I'm the Only One by Melissa Etheridge and I thought she did a great job.  I'm a big fan of Melissa and this is one of my favorite songs.  Big improvement from last week's performance.  More love to Japan.

Jacob Lusk sings Alone by Heart. I totally loved that Jacob picked a rock song for a change.  And I have to agree with JLO, that he really gives 110% of himself to each song and each performance.  Excellent!  And I thought his mom did pretty good. :)  Thanks to Jacob and Heart, sending more love to Japan.

And here's how I would rate their performances:

Stefano Langone
Scotty McCreery
Jacob Lusk
Pia Toscana
Lauren Aliana
Paul McDonald
Thia Megia
James Durbin
Karen Rodriguez
Haley Reinhart
Casey Abrams
Naime Adedapo

This is going to be a really difficult elimination, because all of the remaining contestants are so talented and I really like all of them.  Good luck Idols.

Many thanks again to AI and the Idols for singing their hearts out and showing the people of Japan some love!

And that's my Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

PhotoHunt: Machine(s)

I had so many photos to select from for this theme, but I'm going with one I saw recently from my trip to Amsterdam . . .

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I'm going with this cool fast food dispensing machine I found near the famous Nine Streets shopping area in Amsterdam on my last full day.

For the first time ever on a trip, I purchased a nice pair of boots (and no, not one of the Kinky Boots variety) at one of the shops for $120 euros.  What can I say, something overtook my body when I saw this one pair and next thing I knew I was pulling out the cash.

Across from the shop, I noticed several people taking a shopper's refueling break and having a little snack.  There were these machines with all kinds of sandwiches and other yummy looking food.  They even sold "kipburgers" here, so I just had to snap a photo. :)  But I held out from sampling one of them, because I was saving myself for a nice last day Italian Dinner in a neighborhood Restaurant I spotted the night before. Did I mention that I had fun in Amsterdam. He, he!

See more PhotoHunters HERE!

And for my fellow AI fans and blogging friends, did you catch last night's results show.  I loved seeing Adam Lambert again and he was
awesome. I loved his new song and his unplugged version. I shall definitely download his remix version where a portion of the proceeds from the sales will go to his Trevor Project cause.  Good for you Adam for continuing to increase awareness and for making this a better world through your music. You are not only talented but you are a great role model for other Idols who I hope will follow in your footsteps.

And it was very sad to see one of my earlier favorites, Ashthon Jones, get eliminated last night and even sadder to watch her sing her swan song in hopes of getting the one "Judges Save" for the season. IMHO, I really wish Idol would change this part of the competition and not have the idols sing for the save.  It must be so hard for them to sing their song knowing that they might be going home. And it is difficult to watch.  They should just decide whether or not they would like to give the save or not and then have the idols sing their swan song. Best to Ashthon in her music career. I do think she is very talented and I wish her much success.

And that's my quick Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

Since writing this post, I have learned about the Tsunami that threatened Hawaii and the destruction and devastation on the people, the cities and towns of Japan caused by a massive 8.8 magnitude Earthquake. To our neighbors to the east, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

American Idol: Top 13 perform . . .

Tonight the top 13 Idols performs a song by one of their own personal Idols.  Although the show was actually pre-taped, America will get to vote for their favorite Idol performances live.

New this season is the addition of record producer, Jimmy Lovine to work and mentor the Idols in preparation for each of their performances. I think it's great that the Idols get to work with such talented and successful record producers but at the same time I kind of miss the idea of having guest mentors like Adam Lambert who did such a great job with the Idols last year.  And btw, many thanks to fellow AI fan and blogging friend AnnieNC for letting me know that Adam will be performing in tomorrow night's results show.  I am definitely tuning in to watch his performance.

First up, Lauren Alaina sings Any Man of Mine by Shania Twain and I thought she picked the right song and role model. I'm a big fan of Shania. I thought she did a really good job, but do agree a bit with the judges about wanting Lauren to kick it up a notch.  It's more a matter of making something good even better.

Casey Abrams sings With A Little Help From My Friends by his Idol Joe Cocker.  All I can say is I "felt" it Casey!

Ashthon Jones who the judges compared to Diana Ross sings When You Tell Me That You Love Me by none other than Diana Ross.  Ashthon has been one of my favorites throughout the competition, but unlike the positive reviews she received from the judges, I thought she was pretty pitchy throughout the song.  Sorry.

Paul McDonald sings Come Pick Me Up by Ryan Adams who I have not heard of before. I just really love Paul's voice and style and I agree with the judges in that he really brings something very new and unique to the Idol stage.  I thought it was very funny when Ryan was trying to learn the "Paul McDonald" dance.  Very unique! :)

Pia Toscano sings All By Myself by Celine Dion and nails it.  I think that she really has that "it" factor.

James Durbin, the loan rocker in the top 13 surprisingly picks a Paul McCartney song, Maybe I’m Amazed.  With this performance I saw another side to James and I loved it. My favorite performance from him so far.

Haley Reinhart sings Blue by LeAnn Rimes which is another surprise selection for me.  I thought she did a great job on the vocals but I kind of agree with Randy in that the song choice felt a little sleepy.

Jacob Lusk sings I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly and did what we have come to expect from him.  He did great.

Thia Megia sings Smile by her Idol Michael Jackson.  I agree with Randy and Steven about liking the start more than the middle part of her performance.  But yet on the other hand  I have to agree with JLO in that it was nice to see her do something a little different too.  Hopefully she did enough to stay in the competition.

Stefano Langone sings Lately by Stevie Wonder. I agree with Randy that it can be very difficult to sing a Stevie Wonder song if you're not Stevie Wonder.  I liked it but didn't love it.

Karen Rodriguez picks I Could Fall In Love by Selena which doesn't really surprise me.  It is a perfect choice for her.  I think it could've been better, but I still really liked it.  I have a feeling that Steven wants her back next week. We'll see if the Idol fans take the hint. :) I think they will.

Scotty McCreery sings The River by Garth Brooks and I love that he's keeping true to himself.  Country is definitely where he belongs and where he should stay.  I loved his performance.

Naima Adedapo sings Umbrella by Rihanna.  I am so happy that Naima is in the competition.  She does need to be careful about her control, but I still really loved her Naima reggae spin on Rihanna's song. A very entertaining and wonderful performance.

And here's how I ranked tonight's performances:

Casey Abrams
Scotty McCreery
Pia Toscana
Paul McDonald
Jacob Lusk
James Durbin
Naima Adedapo
Stefano Langone
Karen Rodriguez
Thia Megia
Haely Reinhart
Ashthon Jones

And that's my Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

PhotoHunt: Self Portrait

This was a tough theme for me so this is a real stretch!  While visiting the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow I found this really cool interactive display where you match these puzzle pieces to come up with the face of a famous artist.

After turning and twisting, I "thought" I had matched the pieces to an artist known for his self portrait paintings, Vincent van Gogh (Wikipedia).   But wait, I know that Vincent did not have a "third" eye! An artist, I'm not.  he, he!

Told you it was a "stretch". :)

American Idol: Our Top 13 ...

And in case anyone missed last night's two hour, video premiering, edge of the seat, triple sing off, drama infused results show which in my opinion far surpassed the intrigue and entertainment of this year's Oscar show, here are the top 13 Idols:

Casey Abrams
Lauren Alaina
James Durbin
Jacob Lusk
Scotty McCreery
Paul McDonald
Thia Megia
Haley Reinhart
Karen Rodriguez
Pia Toscano
Naima Adedapo
Ashthon Jones
Stefano Langone

With the exception of Lauren Turner (I agree with you on this one Annie!), who I wish could've at least gotten a Wild Card shot and Kendra Chantelle who I thought nailed her Wild Card Performance, I'm pretty pleased with the top 13 choices. If only there were a top 15 then I would be in Idol heaven. :)

Can't wait for next week's performances.

And that's my Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

American Idol: It's Girls Night . . .

Season 1, Kelly Clarkson, Season 2, Ruben Studdard, Season 3, Fantasia Barrino, Season 4, Carrie Underwood, Season 5, Taylor Hicks, Season 6, Jordan Sparks, Season 7, David Cook, Season 8,  Kris Allen and Season 9, Lee DeWyze.  Will Season 10 crown a winner from among these top 12 female contestants.  Well, only time and these performances will tell:

Ta-Tynisa Wilson
Ta-Tynisa sings Only Girl by Rianana in the dreaded first up spot. She received mixed reviews from the judges. Steve and JLO both liking her performance and Randy not.  I'd have to agree with Randy.

Naima Adedapo
Naima chose the old Gershwin song, Summertime from Porgy and Bess.  She really has beautiful vocals and a great stage presence.  I loved her jazzy performance.  She also looked stunning in a dress she designed herself.

Kendra Chantelle
Kendra sings Impossible by Christina Aguliera and I thought she did great.  Like with Paul McDonald, we only recently got our first glimpse of Kendra in the Vegas rounds.  I'm afraid that will work against her in the votes.

Rachel Zevita
Rachel Zevita sings Criminal by Fiona Apple. I thought she was very good but the judges were a bit critical.  I think this was the first time I saw Steven Tyler actually speechless.

Karen Rodriguez
Karen Rodriguez sings Hero by Mariah Carey in both Spanish and English.  I've been a fan of Karen since seeing her in the auditions and although her performance didn't blow me away, I enjoyed it a lot.

Lauren Turner
Lauren Turner sings Seven Day Fool by the great Etta James and wow!  Excellent!  She received high praises from all three judges.  I totally loved her soulful, bluesy, edgy vocals.  I also agree with Jennifer, I bet if she really cuts it loose she could be among the final 5 of this Season's best singers.  Way to go Lauren.

Ashthon Jones
Ashthon sings Love Over Me by Monica.  I'm a big fan of Ashthon and I thought she not only looked great with the dress and as JLO put it, the big hair, I thought she did a good job.  At times, I thought she had to work to hold her notes. Plus it's always hard to follow a really strong performance.

Julie Zorilla
Julie sings Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson and I'm a bit disappointed in her performance especially since she has been one of my favorites from the beginning.  I'm afraid she might not make it to the top 5.

Haley Reinhart
Haley Reinhart sings Fallin by Alicia Keys and received mixed reviews with once again Randy being more critical.  It's hard to see anyone other than Alicia sing this song, but I thought she did a pretty good job.

Thia Megia
With the lights turned down low, Thia stands in the one spot light on stage to sing Irene Cara's Out Here On My Own.  It was a great visual.  It's so hard to believe that Thia is only 15 years old.  What a wonderful performance!  So sweet.  So talented. I loved it!

Lauren Alania
Lauren Alania sings Turn on the Radio by Reba McIntyre. All three judges agree that it was a great performance.  And I agree with all three judges. :)

Pia Toscano
Pia sings last with I’ll Stand by You by The Pretenders. She garners a standing "O" by both the judges and the audience.  She totally deserved it. A fabulous performance and the best of the evening!

And here's how rank tonight's performances:

Pia Toscano
Lauren Turner
Thia Megia
Naime Adedapo
Lauren Alania
Ashthon Jones
Karen Rodriguez
Kendra Chantelle
Haley Reinhart
Rachel Zevita
Ta-Tynisa Wilson
Julie Zorrilla

Good luck to all the contestants!  I'll be back to recap again for next week's top 12 Idol performances. I get too stressed out watching the results show especially the way Idol loves to string things out for dramatic effect, so I'll be taping the results show and watching it later.  :) I'm crossing my fingers for all of our favorites to make it through.

And that's my Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .

American Idol: It's Guys Night . . .

With the auditions and the notorious Hollywood Week Rounds all behind us the search to find the next American Idol finally begins with the top 12 male contestants performing live for our votes.  At the end of tonight's and tomorrow night's shows, Idol fans will get the opportunity to cast their votes by either calling, texting and "new" this season by going onto Facebook.  And since I don't do facebook, I will be registering my votes the old school way....by calling! :)  So here we go!

Clint Jun Gamboa
First up, Clint Gamboa sings
Superstitious by Stevie Wonder.  I've made it no secrete that I have not been a fan of Clint because of the Jacee incident, but putting my personal feelings aside I do have to say that Clint can really sing and I thought he did a pretty good job.  So, if AI fans can forgive him for the Jacee incident and vote based upon talent I think he earned the right to stay in.

Jovany Barreto
Jovany Barreto chose I’ll Be by Edward McCain.  I thought he was just okay. Steven and JLO liked it a lot, but I agree with Randy.  It wasn't great. He looked good though.

Jordan Dorsey
Jordan sang OMG by Usher which OMG I thought was pretty awful.  In fact, I thought he was probably the worst of tonight's show.  Sorry. And I disagree with Steven about him having good moves on stage. I didn't think so.  Sorry again.

Tim Halperin
Tim sang Streetcorner Symphony / Come on Over by Rob Thomas and although I've been a great fan of Tim especially during the Hollywood rounds, I thought that this was the wrong song for him.  It didn't do enough to showcase his strengths.

Brett Loewenstern
Singing, Light My Fire by the Doors, I thought Brett did a good job with the song and received some good comments from the judges.  The best comment came from JLO when she told him that she saw more hair flicking than she and Beyonce combined in the past 10 years!  Apparently, Randy was counting . . . 14 hair flicks!

James Durbin
James Durbin sang You Got Another Thing Comin’ by JUDAS Priest and elicited the first *^%!%  comments from Steven Tyler.  I haven't been a huge fan of James but I actually liked it. I thought he was more in control of his high screeches and brought some Rock Attitude to the Idol's Pop stage.

Robbie Rosen
Robbie Rosen sang one of my favorite songs, In the Arms of An Angel by Sarah MacLachlan.  It wasn't his very best performance but I thought it was good.

Scotty McCreery
Scotty McCreery picks, Letters From Home by John Michael Montgomery and did an amazing job with it.  I loved his performance.

Stefano Langone
Stefano Langone sings another one of my favorites, Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars and did a fantastic job. I thought he picked a great upbeat song to go with his positive upbeat personality.  And he's so cute too!

Paul McDonald
Paul just recently came in my radar after his performances in Round 3 in Vegas.  He picks a classic song in Maggie Mae by Rod Stewart and did such a fantastic job with it.  I agree that he really brings such a unique vocal and performance style to Idol which we have not seen before. Randy hit it on the mark and I really hope he stays in the competition so we can see more of him.

Jacob Lusk
Jacob performs a Luther Vandross song, House Is Not A Home.  I have one word, "Smooth".  Fabulous vocals.

Casey Abrams
Casey sings I Put A Spell On You by CCR and it was off the charts great.  He is unbelievable!  I'd have to say that he is a lock.

And here is how I would rank tonight's performances:

Casey Abrams
Scotty McCreery
Jacob Lusk
Paul McDonald
Stefano Langone
James Durbin
Brett Loewenstern
Clint Jun Gamboa
Robbie Rosen
Tim Halperin
Jovany Barreto
Jordan Dorsey

And that's my Recap. Keep on Rocking AI . . .
