PhotoHunt: Mostly Black

The Highland Cows (Wikipedia)  were introduced to me by fellow Slow Traveler and blogging friend, AnnieNC (Churches in Venice), right before my trip to Scotland in 2009.  Here's a great and very funny post that she wrote on her blog about these wonderful animals.  Ever since then I have been fascinated with them.

So needless to say while I was visiting the Highlands in Scotland, I took tons of photos.  And since they hardly move while grazing, they are perfect photo subjects.  Most of them are this beautiful caramel color but in a group of them I found in a field near my hotel in Arisaig, I found this beautiful black highland cow and he had no problems posing for me.

His caramel colored buddy on the other hand was not as cooperative as you'll see in this short video: :)

  4. Does anyone have the urge to cut their fringes? (Sorry, don't want to put that idea into anyone's head -- but I just had to ask!)

  5. Hi YTSL, LOL! No one has mentioned the urge to trim off their bangs yet but another fellow Slow Traveler and blogging pal, Sandra in a previous post I did on the Caramel Highland Cows did have the urge to put a hair barret on. :) I'm not sure how they can see through their bangs too, but then again they hardly move...and actually they have these big beautiful eyes, so I guess that helps! :)

Thanks so much for your comments and have a great weekend!

  7. Hi Jerry, thanks so much for your comments. Glad you liked the video. :) I loved your photo selection too. Congrats on the win. :) I'm sorry I can't seem to still post a comment your blog for some reason. I'm thinking it must be me since I see comments on there. I'm sorry, I'll keep on trying to see if it goes through. Have a super weekend too.

Marta, I love their bangs too! I took so many photos of them I'm hoping for another PH theme where I can continue to show case them. :)

Sandra, she was certainly being a "Diva"! He, he.
