Mom: It looks good.
Kathy: No it doesn't.
Mom: When you blow dry it this way, it looks good!
Kathy: You think?
Mom: Yes, try it. And if you still don't like it I'll take you to have your hair straightened out. No worries.
Kathy: Okay, I guess it's okay. Thanks Mom. :)
One of the few photos I have saved of my mom and me. This is one of my favorites because it reminds me why I love and miss my mom.
My mom was so special. She always allowed me to be me, to take risks and to follow my dreams. Most importantly, my mom was always there to give me a shoulder to cry on no matter how big or small my problems were! Here I am showcasing "the perm", braces, a colorful aloha shirt and overalls. And my mom still loves me. :) Told you she's awesome.
Happy Mother's Day Mom!
With all my love and aloha!
And wishing all of you a very Happy Mother's Day!
Aw, Kathy. A touching post.
ReplyDeleteRe the photo: I've had worse hair -- truly! Which is why my hairstyle of choice for the past two decades has been on the short side. ;b
Hi YTSL, I'm not sure that it is possible for anyone to have a worse hair day. :) I like my hair short too. So much easier to manage and fewer possibilities for anything going wrong. ha ha.
DeleteVery late in replying... love this post! Your mom was very special!
ReplyDeleteMy greatest discovery has been the flat iron! I used to wear a winter hat to bed in the heat of the summer growing up to try to tame my hair. One great benefit of Colorado... no humidity! My hair is in heaven :)
Hi Girasoli, Yes, humidity does cause havoc on hair. Glad your hair is in heaven in no humidity Colorado. lol
