Apparently, there was a bit of controversy that came up this week. First, the anonymous votes from last week's show were revealed. Second, there was a YouTube Video with a controversial interview involving Caleb. To be fair, I think the Idols should be judged by the merits of their performances because that's what the show is about. I have no issues with who voted for what last week, but I have a feeling that the Caleb video was very disappointing for his fans.
I thought the first two performances were just okay with no real stand outs. Thankfully, the Idols saved their best for last because the third performances from all four contestants were pretty awesome. And here's how I rated all three performaces tonight:
Here's how I rated their Break-Up Performances:
Jena Irene sings Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar
Alex Preston sings Too Close by Alex Clare
Jessica Meuse sings Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson
Caleb Johnson sings You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi
Here's how I rated Idol's Dedication Performances:
Jessica Meuse sings So What by Pink
Jena Irene sings Bad Romance by Lady Gaga
Caleb Johnson sings Travelin' Band by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Alex Preston sings I'm Yours by Jason Mraz
Here's how I rated their Make-Up Performances:
Jena Irene sings Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley (By far the best performance of the season. That was Awesome!)
Jessica Meuse sings You and I by Lady Gaga (Her best performance of the season. I'm really pulling for Jessica because she has taken all the criticism in a positive way and she always seems to genuinely enjoy every moment of the experience).
Alex Preston sings Yellow by Coldplay
Caleb Johnson sings Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney
I based my votes on how I rated the third performances of the night and based upon that, it was the girls who really pulled it off tonight. Here's how I voted:
And thanks my Recap! Keep on Rocking AI . . . .
It was great to see the girls have such a strong night! Glad you gave them your votes. It was interesting to hear Ryan talk about auditions for next season - guess that means they plan to continue despite the low ratings? I have mixed emotions - part of me thinks it might have run its course.
ReplyDeleteGetting down to the wire now! Thanks for the recap.
Hi Annie, thanks so much for your comments. I was a bit surprised too at Ryan sayting there will be auditions for next season. He was kind of matter of fact too, no big build up or production about the fact that they'll be back next season. I agree with you if ratings don't improve next year and still decline, it could be the final season. :( I'm a bit sad about that but at the same time I would rather it end when it hasn't really hit rock bottom yet. Leave on a semi high note would be good.
DeleteCan't wait for the finale show in two weeks. I think it's going to be between Jena and Caleb. Unless Alex does something really off the hook next week.
Have a great weekend.
Oops forgot to add that I just saw that Jessica was eliminated. :( I was really pulling for her to at least make top 3.
