Oh, yes. I agree. The first time I saw it - it certainly did take my breath away. Got that same feeling the first time I saw Venice! Thanks for the remembrance, K.
Marta, I kept thinking I was seeing some large painting of sort. It just seemed too perfect. And yet there it was in all it's glory.
M, Venice definitely ranks in the breathtaking category. The first time I saw Venice I was completely speechless. I thought to myself, now this is the most beautiful City in the world!
Annie, I'm glad you like my choice. I love the colors of the canyon and sky too. I love seeing Maria. Hope you're having a great weekend too.
As a kid, the Grand Canyon was one of the places I most wanted to visit. Alas, more than 4 decades into my life, I still haven't been... and am not sure I ever will. Funny thing though is after seeing so many photos of it, I sometimes feel as though I already have! :D
Hi YTSL & Jerry, thanks so much for your comments . .
YTSL, the Grand Canyon is an amazing natural wonder and I hope that you will get to see it in person. I think you would love hiking it for sure just based on reading your blog.
Jerry, I know what you mean. I stared out into the Valley the first time I saw it for a looooong time. Partly in disbelief of what I was seeing and partly in awe!
Thanks so much for your comments. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hi Girasoli, thanks so much for your comments...I didn't go there this past holidays. This was a hiking trip a few years ago with friends and it was fun. Since then I have wanted to return but with schedule conflicts I haven't made it back. When you do get the opportunity to visit I think you will love photography it. I didn't have my DSLR on this trip so couldn't take really great photos.
Hi Kathy, I have to agree with you that the Grand Canyon is breathtaking. I saw it for the first time as an adult, and the first sight really did take take my breath away!
Hi Maya, that first sight on the South Rim took my breath away too! :) Thanks so much for your comments Maya. Sorry to hear about all the flooding in Australia. Hope all is well with you and your friends. Take care.
I agree it is definitely breathtaking - the wonder of nature.

ReplyDeleteThat The Grand Canyon sure is breathtaking. It's probably the only thing I've seen in nature that truly stopped me in my tracks.
