PhotoHunt: Shadow

In the shadow of Torre del Mangia (Wikipedia) lies the very beautiful Piazza del Campo in Siena, Italy . . .

Siena (Wikipedia) is a wonderful town in Tuscany with very beautiful surroundings.  We also enjoyed a ground level view of this lovely piazza while having lunch at the restaurant on the left with the dark brown canopy.

And how can I post a photo of where we ate without posting a couple of photos of what we ate. Here's my Pizza Margarita and my delicious cup of strawberry gelato. Yum!  :)

  Oh, how I miss Italy!

  5. Hi Sandra & M, thanks so much for your comments...

Sandra, at first my friend and I thought we wouldn't be able to eat the entire pizza, we bought one each but then we ate the whole thing and then had room for gelato! :) It was so good. Have a great weekend!

M, I really liked Siena a lot too. I took this photo from the tower, stuck my camera over the edge (with my strap around my neck :) and snapped the shot. Have a great weekend too and yes it is an extra long one with Monday as MLK Holiday. Yay!

  6. Yikes... that first shot... where you took it from most certainly would not appeal to people with vertigo! :D

  8. Hi YSTL & Marta, thanks so much for your comments

YSTL,yes it would be difficult for someone with vertigo even I had to hold on to the rail. This was a very high tower. Beautiful view though.

Marta, thanks for liking my photo. The view was very cool groom the tower.

Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend,

  9. "Oh, how I miss Italy!"

You and me both, my friend!!! Fabulous shot. I haven't yet climbed this tower, but hope to at some point. Also want to spend a night or two in Siena, so far have only been there on daytrips and can just imagine how special it must be to stroll around in the evening...sigh :)

Hope all is well with you these days, I haven't been able to make my blog rounds much lately, so am missing being in the loop on what my blog friends are up to. (The ones not on facebook anyway - if you're on there, I can't find you!)

  10. Hi Anne, :) I think the I miss Italy club is a big group. :) But it is Italy so very understandable to have so many members in it. My friend and I went to Tuscany after watching Under the Tuscan Sun and Siena seemed like one of several interesting town. I really loved it there. Such a beautiful setting. All is doing well these days and I hope all is well with you too. It's always so wonderful to see your blog posts and read your comments. Well, I actually don't have a facebook account, just my blog and twitter. Maybe someday I'll venture into checking out facebook... :)

Thanks so much for your comments Anne and have a wonderful week! I copied my reply here because I originally posted it on the wrong topic post. I wrote this originally in my hiking Bluff Top corridor by mistake. Not sure how I did that. :)
