First, here's a gorgeous sunset in Vernazza in the Cinque Terre...
And here's my first fabulous sunset in beautiful Venice . . .
And I have to give a big Congratulations to Lee DeWyze for winning Season 9 American Idol last night! Kudos to Crystal Bowersox as well for making it to the finals. I loved seeing all the past Idols and it was really cool seeing Paula again and performers like Chicago, Brett Michaels, the Bee Gees and Janet. And it was kind of touching seeing Simon make his farewell speech ...loved all the clips.:)
Love your post with the fave times and the sunsets in Italy. What wonderful experiences. Don't you feel so lucky and blessed. The world is filled with such amazing sites. I loved the AI show last night. Really a nice production and seeing all those top winners and everyone dressed in white. Very nostalgic ride. Thanks for all your reviews for the nights prior that I missed.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good finale show. I was so glad that Paula came back to bid Simon farewell. They seemed really happy to see each other! The show will never be the same without him. I also thought it was cool that all the Idol winners (except David Cook) were there too.
ReplyDeleteLove the Venice sunset!
Hi Barb & Annie, thanks so much for your comments.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I love sunsets and they are always beautiful in Italy. :) And yes, I feel so lucky to have these experiences and to see these beautiful places. AI was realy fun to watch and seeing the past Idols singing that song was really cool. Simon looked like he was really touched. You're very welcome, its always fun for me to write about my favorite show and I love reading everyone's comments and insights.
Annie, yes it was a really entertaining show. And Simon looked really happy to see Paula and that was very sweet of her to come back on Simon's last show. I agree with you, the show will not be the same without him. I agree it was great to see all the idol past winners and some of the runner ups. I'm glad you like my Venice Sunset. I'll never forget that image and the feelings I had experiencing it...
Thanks again Barb & Annie. Hope you have a wonderful long Memorial Day weekend.
Hi Kathy, your Vernazza video reminded me of having a beer at sunset after a day of hiking on that same plaza!
ReplyDeleteI forgot that it was a long weekend back in the US. Our Memorial Day equivalent in Anzac (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps) Day is celebrated in April. We will have a long weekend in a couple of weeks when we celebrate the Queens Birthday--Australia doesn't have a Queen, and isn't the Queen of England's Birthday!
Enjoy your long weekend.
What beautiful sunsets, Kathy! Those are the types of memories that really stay with you.
ReplyDeleteHi Maya, that's cool that my video reminded you of your beer and sunset moment. :) You just reminded be that we did enjoy a nice treat while watching the sun go down, a cup of gelato. That place to the right with the beads in the door way had the best gelato and before we went sleep we always got a cup and sat on the benches in that plaza. And there was some wine involved at some point too. How interesting that Australia has a similar Memorial Day weekend. That's cool. And how funny that you have a Queen's day but no Queen in Australia. But it's nice to have the long weekend anyway. Enjoy your weekend too and the long one coming up.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, I'm glad you like my sunsets. They are one of my favorite things to photograph. I agree with you that these type of memories has definite staying power. I love photos, but sometimes I like watching videos too because of the sounds of the ocean, the sounds of life (conversations, movement and those pretty church bells).
Thanks so much girls for your comments. Have a great weekend.
Cool video!! Love sunsets also. Am hoping to take a few cool photos this summer of some Hawaiian sunsets. Hadn't thought about video before. Will have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteHi Girasoli, thanks so much for your comments. That will be very cool to see your sunset photos and a nice cool video of them. I love sunsets and I am looking forward to seeing the ones you capture in Hawaii.
