PhotoHunt: Plastic

With all the things made of plastic I had a difficult time finding a photo for this week. Go figure!

I finally settled on a "Plastic" baton that traveled 120 miles through the beautiful mojave desert . . .

Last weekend was our B2V celebration party (one of several) and I was asked to create the Team Slideshow. Well, I'm no Pedro Almodóvar or other famous director, but I'm happy to report that everybody loved it! Watching it brought back so many great memories. The plot was simple: carry a plastic baton 120 miles. :) And here's a little trailer like sample. LOL!

And on this long Holiday weekend we honor all those who gave so much for our freedom! Happy Memorial Day to everyone.

  1. I had difficulty with this post also. I had to dig around to find something plastic that I had photographed in the past. I didn't want to do the obvious plastic trash.

I love your unique take on the theme. It works perfect. And I love your video. You did an excellent job. I really like the photo passing off the baton. Nice mix of running and story telling.

Hope you have a great holiday weekend.

  2. Great choice for the theme! I know how much you enjoy being part of the B2V. Thank you for posting a teaser of the slide show you made for your team. You did a fantastic job!

I also struggled with the theme and kept on looking around the house for something interesting made of plastic. Couldn’t find anything so I finally settled with two photos, although one is a repost and the other is a bit of a stretch for the theme.

    Wishing you a fun weekend!

  3. Awesome! I remember reading about B2V on your blog but did not know about the plastic baton. Very cool. You are so talented with your slide shows; I know your friends absolutely loved it!

  5. Yes, yes and yes -(Super take on the theme, great video, and for the remembrance of Memorial Day's origins). Running in the desert must be hot at best! Have a super relaxing holiday weekend..menehune

  6. Hi Marta, this week was definitely hard because although there are a lot of things made of plastic, most of it was not very interesting to me. I liked the baton passing shot too. Almost used that as the featured photo, but only noticed it after I did the movie! :) Glad you liked my photo and movie.

Thank you so much for your comments and hope you’re enjoying your holiday weekend Marta!

Hi Maria, glad you liked my teaser slideshow. It was fun to watch it with everyone! And hint, they told me they can’t wait for next year! It’s so funny how something so common as plastic can be so hard to choose from. I thought you did an awesome job on your selections!

Thank you so much for your comments Maria and hope you're having an awesome weekend!

Hi Annie, thank you so much. I’m glad you liked my selection! This week was hard for me to choose and be interesting! Everyone did a fantastic job this week. It was fun watching the slideshow with my friends. So much fun remembering that weekend.
It’s nice and warm this weekend. Perfect weather.

Hope you’re having great weather in NC. Have a great Sunday and wonderful Memorial Day off tomorrow Annie!

Hi Girasoli, glad you loved it! Yes it does remind me of running track with the baton. I just loved all the action shots and thank goodness I remembered the baton when I was thinking of this week’s theme because it was a tough theme.

Thanks so much for your comments. Hope you’re having a great long weekend!

Hi Menehune, glad you liked my theme photo and video. The desert is an incredible place. The mountains are so beautiful against the emptiness of the desert. Got really sun burned yesterday the sun is so strong here, but am having a very relaxing weekend so far! :) Hope you’re enjoying your nice long weekend too!
