Boa's & the Cool One . . .

Well, I wish I could say that I was going to post something meaningful today, but I'm not! :)

Got home very late from last night's party and yet I had to wake up early today. I have a suspecion I'll have to excerise my Madrid "nap" technique again today if I'm going to last in the afternoon.

It started out pretty mellow with the dimmed lighting, great food and awesome themed decorations . . . .

And then the "Boa" makes it's first appearance and the party heats up . . .

Did I say yet that each table had a couple bottles of wine . . .

Well, they did! :)

At the urging of my friends, the DJ finally decided to play "Kiss" by the Cool One (aka Prince) to get me to dance! And it worked! Time to put my camera down beccause it was Party time!

. . . on second thought, my meaningful thought for today is sometimes you just gotta let your hair down and have some fun!

  2. Sounds like a great party, Kathy!

As soon as the boas come out, it has to mean a good time!

Hope you're catching up again on your rest.

  3. Hi girls, thanks for the comments...

Menehune, it was definitely FUN, especially when the DJ started to play some good songs.:)

Sandra, I counted a total of 4 Boas at one point up on the dance floor so the good time was definitely happening. :) Not sure if you have it where you live too, but yesterday was daylight savings, which moved our time forward. Made getting up Sunday morning a little challenging. But I did catch a little nap time later so was fine by the afternoon. :)

Thanks again and have a great day today!

  4. Hi Kathy, this looks and sounds like a very fun party. The Cool One and Boas, what a great combo. Glad you were able to let your hair down! Cool balloons too with those mod designs.

I love taking naps on the weekends. Didn't get to do it this weekend with so much going on. The boys and I had a great hike, and I did take my camera - I'll post some photos sometime soon. They want to have a birthday party for Maria next month when she turns one year old - I think it's a great idea!

And my Heels beat Duke yesterday...woo hooo! We beat them twice this season, always a good thing.

Daylights savings always messes me up too, in fact I am already running late for work today. Oh well. Happy Monday!

  5. Hi Annie, yes nothing like a few Boas and the cool one to take a party to the next level! :)

I'm glad you had a great time on your hike and spending time with your nephews. I can't wait to see your photos! I think it's so sweet that your nephews want to have a Birthday party for Maria! Little Maria is so lucky that they found her when they did and brought her to you. Just wonderful and so touching.

Guess what, I watched your Tar Heels beat Duke yesterday. It aired here at 1:00 pm our time and it was an awesome game. I don't really watch much College Basketball but it was definitely fun watching this game! Congratulations to your NC Tar Heels!

    Have a great day Annie!

  6. How cool that you watched the game! It was pretty close but I felt confident that the Heels would pull it out. It wasn't the most exciting game they have played this year - Duke really slowed the tempo down and it was dragging at times, but still, it was a great win for us. Did you see how they kept showing Michael Jordan sitting in the stands cheering? It was cool to see him there.

So now the regular season is over and March Madness really begins!

  7. Hi Annie, it was close up until the very end when your Tar Heels pulled away! I had forgotten that MJ went to NC. It's cool how he was there and showing his support. I was wondering when the NCAA starts! Should be a very exciting tournament! I think I'm going to have to stay tuned because it was fun and exciting watching the game yesterday! Whoo hoo!

  8. I was in school with MJ so I got to watch his basketball career from the very beginning! I don't watch the NBA much anymore but I watched all the time when he was playing. Yes, he grew up in NC and went to UNC too. He hit the clutch game-winning shot that gave us the National Championship in 1982 - I'll never forget that!

Next weekend is the conference tournament and then next Sunday, they will announce all the brackets for the NCAAs. The NCAA games will start on Thursday March 19 and then the National Championship game is Monday April 6. I sure would love to see the Heels win another one!

  9. Hi Annie, that's so cool that you went to school with MJ. I bet the games while he was there were amazing! Sometimes I prefer collegiate sports myself too because I just think it's more exciting and I think they play for school pride and the love of the sport.

Thanks for the information on when the NCAA starts. I'll have to mark it on my calendar! Not sure that WSU is any good this year. Wouldn't it be funny if they meet again !

It seems like NC will be a strong contender this year again. I heard them say that winning vs duke was going to make them the no 1 seed! Go Heels!

  12. Where was this held, Kathy?
'Cause you have some major orbs in a few of these photos!
    Check this out:
2nd photo - orbs appear to be on the wall over the window
3rd photo - several on the black pants and one on the skirt of the black dress, as well as a very distinct orb in the top right side window
4th photo - one huge orb and one small one in the window at the top right side.
Hmmmm, wonder who else was at this party!

  13. Hi, this party was held in a country club restaurant. I did not notice the little round circles before you pointed them out. I looked up what an orb was. I guess if that one theory is correct then maybe we did have some other guests there.

Very interesting observation ... I'll have to check with my other friends who took pictures at this party. Now I'm curious...

  14. I see the orbs too! It's funny because I've been working on a blog post about Orbs. I don't know what they are but it's interesting when they show up in my photos (pretty rarely).

  15. Hi Annie, it was very interesting to read about the orbs and itgot me thinking! There is an intersting story behind the Boas which I'll ellaborate more on when I get home tonight! It really got me thinking for sure and you might also find it interesting too! I'm going to ask my friends if they had these orbs in their photos?

I will be very interested in reading your post about the Orbs Annie!

  16. It looks like it was a spectacular party! Happy to hear that you had fun but how could you not with boas, the Cool One and wine. I hope that you are rested and that your week is going great. Funny, but boas remind me of Anne maybe because I remember reading in her blog that she went to see Mamma Mia with a couple of friends and they danced down the steps with boas. I think that from now on boas will also remind me of this post of yours.

Annie: what fun to celebrate Maria (the kitten) first b-day. We always celebrated our pet's b-days. I'm looking forward to seeing photos.

  18. Hi Maria, thanks so much for your comments. It was a definitely a fun party and yes the Boas and the cool one were great. I didn't drink because I was driving, but those who could drink said it was very good!

I'll have to read Anne's post again. I had forgotten about the Boa's. Her whole Mamma Mia thing is so cute!

I love the idea of a birthday party for Maria too! And yes, photos please Annie! :)

Thanks for your comments Maria. Have a great evening!

  19. HI Annie, okay now that I have a full keyboard. Remember my friend from work Lucie who past away suddenly. Well, she totally loved Boas so when I saw the Orbs I thought about her. At her services her brother showed a slide show and in it you saw her attending parties, laughing and dancing and having a great time. Very similar to the way my friends were enjoying the party in the photo.

She really lived life to the fullest and I think she would've enjoyed a party like this.

The Orbs in these photos probably has nothing to do with Lucie, but it had me think about her but in a happy way. I think she would've danced up a storm in a party like this, Boa in hand!

Anyway, I couldn't really finish my thoughts at work, but wanted to mention the Boa thing because I just found it interesting.

  20. Kathy, who knows but it's definitely cool to think that maybe the orbs were a way for Lucie to let you know that she's okay. It would make sense for her to show up at a party with boas and dancing too!

I'm going to try to get my Orb post up today. I was going to try to do more research about them but I think I'll just go ahead and post it since I've got a couple photos that have them. I flip flop back and forth between the rational explanation and the mystical one!

    Happy Wednesday!

  21. Hi Annie, yes it is a pleasant thought! I don't know too about the exact cause of these cirlces, but it is interesting.

I'm looking forward to reading your post tonight Annie! Have a great day today!

  22. Looks like it was a fun party! Interesting to see the orbs and think it could be related to Lucie. I have an orb photo and news clip on orbs I plan to post tomorrow (Sunday).

Sorry I am so behind once again with commenting. Some family stuff going on and I had some sort of stomach flu. Better now and catching up with everything.
