American Idol Season 13: It's Back and It's Better than Ever

To say that last season of American Idol was a train wreck would be putting it mildly. Thankfully, this year the producers went back to the basics. They brought back JLo and Keith Urban and brought in Harry Conick Jr. and the chemistry between the three of them is wonderfully refreshing.

Here's one of my favorite scenes from the auditions:

American Idol has always been about finding that diamond in the rough from small town USA to big urban cities.  After watching the auditions, I think the judges found a very talented group of contestants and one of them will be this year's new American Idol.

Here are the contestants that most impressed me.

I'm looking forward to Hollywood Week and can't wait for the competition to begin.  Keep on Rocking AI . . .

  1. Hi Kathy, I've only watched one audition episode so far but I agree with you that this group of judges is a big improvement over last year! They really seem to be more focused on giving helpful comments and less on creating drama. :) I don't think I saw any of your top picks yet but I look forward to seeing them during Hollywood week.

    Thanks for the AI update!

    1. Hi Annie, yes less drama and more focus on the talent is what I think will make this season successful. I liked a lot of the contestants (some were questionable) but I think these are my standouts so I'm hoping they make it through Hollywood Hell Week. My guess is there were a few contestants that didn't receive air time so I might have new favorites. Thanks so much for your comments and for liking my AI update.

      Have a great work week.

It's me Trekcapri (aka Kathy). Thanks so much for visiting and leaving a comment.
