Saturday's PhotoHunting: Famous Places

Some people have asked me.  From all the places that I've been to, what is the one famous place that I would recommend in Europe as a "must" visit?  My answer, Venice, Italy!  No if's, no buts, no maybe's.

From the moment you make that turn onto the Grand Canal on Vaporetto # 1 and see Venice in all of her glory for the first time . . .

To the intimate campos and people . . .

To the winding canals and bridges . . . .

To the amazing architecture . . .

And to the beautiful churches, the history and the artwork . . . .

Venice simply has it all!  It is the most amazing, beautiful, glorious, intimate, one of a kind and famous place in the world.

For more on Venice, you need to check out my blogging friend, Annie's Churches in Venice Blog.  It's a beautiful blog with lots of details, interesting historical information and beautiful photos on Venice.

  6. Hi everyone, thanks so much for your comments....

LifeRamblings, St. Mark's Basilica is amazing. Venice is so beautiful and my most favorite place so far that I've visited.

YTSL, I've been very lucky to visit Venice 3 times. The first two as part of a group tour so I saw very little of venice, so on my third visit I spent 2 weeks in an apartment which was awesome. I hope I am lucky enough to return again and maybe then I can stay even longer. :)

ECL, I think you would totally love Venice. I've been three times but it still remains to be my dream destination too.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. I was in Bangkok, the tour guide says if you can't go to Venice, shut yr eyes, and pretend Bangkok is Venice.

Of course, if you can go to Venice, that's the best.

  9. Venice is certainly a very special town to visit. I have been there several times, because Mr. G's family doesn't live very far from there, but each time I discover something new !

  12. Hi Annie, I never tire of looking at Venice too. :) You have a really awesome blog Annie. I was thankful to have had a chance to read your trip report and blog posts before I left for my trip in 2007 and it really inspired me a lot. Thank you so much for continuing to write about Venice. I hope you had a great long weekend. I'm still off so my weekend hasn't ended yet. :)

    Have a great week!
