Reflections: What I thought of on New Year's Eve . . .

  1. Happy New Year, Kathy! It's kinda fun to have those "where will I go next?" thoughts.

Hope you had a great holiday. It really went by fast. Back to work today wasn't that bad though. Best wishes to you for a very happy 2012!

  2. Happy New Year to you too, Annie! Yes, it's fun to think of where to next. :) Hopefully, I will be fortunate to be able to travel this year again. If I do I'm actually considering going to South America (my first non European trip). :) But we'll see how that goes.

I had a blast over the holidays visiting with my sis and you're right it went by so fast. I hope you had a wonderful Holidays too. Today wasn't bad at work for me also. Traffic was pretty light as I think people are still off.

    Have an Awesome 2012 Annie!

  3. I know you mentioned Machu Picchu (sp?) one time - is that what you are thinking about? I bet it would be awesome! The few people I know who went raved about the whole experience.

There are so many places I'd like to go in Europe but when it comes to decide, I just keep wanting to go to Venice again! I hope I'll be able to go back in 2012.

  4. Hi Annie, yes I actually was thinking of Machu Picchu (your spelling was right on). I think it would be awesome too. It's been on my list for so long but I didn't want to go without my friend. So if my friend can't make it then I may consider going on a tour. :)

I can understand your draw to Venice. She is lovely and one of a kind and I could spend a life time visiting Venice over and over again as I love that city. In fact Venice is the one place that I have visited (the other being rome) the most.

I think that would be cool if you can visit this year. I always love reading and seeing photos of all of your new discoveries. I have finally convinced my sister to go to Italy with me and the one place that is a "must" see is Venice. I'm thinking Umbria and Florence as the other two bases. :) I mentioned my plans to Sandra and she spoke so highly of Umbria which I have not yet seen. But that won't be until 2014 maybe.

It's fun to travel and fulfill our passions. I think it's great that you have such a passion for Venice and you should follow your heart and go where you want to go to the most and what makes you happy.

Here's to our 2012 travel plans....

  5. I hope your friend decides to go but if not, I think a tour would be great. I like solo independent travel but there are some places that I would feel better with a tour group.

Taking your sister to Italy will be awesome!

There is another photo meme similar to photohunt called ABC Wednesday. I'm thinking about joining it and thought I'd give you the link in case you wanted to do it too. They are getting ready to finish the alphabet and will start a new round in a couple of weeks. Might be fun to find photos that match each letter!

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Hi Annie, yes I'll have to see about my trip. I read a ST Trip report a while back and will re-read it for ideas. :) My sis is so claustrophobic so it was hard to convince her to take a long plane ride with me, but we may break up the trip so it's not so long for her.

Thanks so much for sharing the ABC Wednesday link. I just checked it out and it looks like fun. I'll join if you join. My goal this year is to have more fun with my photography and writing and improve my technical and composition skills. I like the pairing of a letter with a photo and even poem. Very cool meme.

Thanks soooo much for sharing it with me. They seem to be on "Y" so it does look like they will be starting a new set soon. I think I'll start hunting for "A". :)

btw, I loved your PH this week. Such wonderful composition and colors. And that 2nd photo, simple but your composition with the colors were spot on.

Thanks Annie! Have an awesome weekend.

  7. Cool, I'm glad you're up for it too! Starting with "A" sounds good to me. I'd like to be more active on my blog but I don't always have time to do the research and writing for my Venice church posts. Photo memes are quicker and easier, plus fun!

I'll start looking for "A" too!

  8. Hi Annie, sounds good. I love your Venice Churches posts. They are so well written and researched with interesting links and history. I always enjoy them. I can only imagine how much time it takes you to write each post. Thank you so much for writing them because it's keeping me inspired to one day visit Venice again.

I, myself, have been experiencing major writing block so having the photohunting memes is keeping me active while I work through it. Plus I really enjoy it a lot.

I can't wait to get started on the new meme. I already created my folders so I can get a head start on finding photos for each alphabet. :)

Thanks so much for letting me know about it. Have a wonderful week.

  9. Hi Kathy,
I hope you are having a wonderful start to 2012. As I reviewed your blog I realized I missed your last trip along with many other things.
We had a very busy 2011 with the move to Perth, and lots of travel. I didn't do much blogging but am getting back into it.
    Hope all is well.

  10. Hi Maya, thank you so much. And a very Happy New Year to you & yours too.

Yes I haven't seen you blogging much until recently. You have been pretty busy. Sounds like you had quite an adventurous holiday in India. :) I hope to catch up on your blog soon.

Meanwhile, hope things are more relaxed for you these days. Hope you have an awesome 2012.
