PhotoHunt: Wooden

This guitar is made from a wooden White Horse Whisky box and it belonged to a Scottish folk musician/actor named Billy Connolly.  I saw it while visiting the People's Palace Museum in Glasgow, Scotland.

I was very tempted to stroke the strings with my fingers to hear how it plays, but it was hanging too high up on the wall.  I'm sure for a good reason. :)

  1. What an interesting guitar; I've never seen one shaped like that. Great find for the theme!

  2. What an interesting looking guitar. I wonder how the music from it sounds vis a vis more regular shaped guitars! ;)

  3. Ha! I would have loved to have heard the tone from a whiskey box too! Super inventive tho and great take on this week's theme. Hope you are able to enjoy a delightfully harmonious weekend, K!

  4. Hi girls, thanks so much for your comments and for liking my photo...

Annie, it does look interesting. Don't see very many rectangle shaped guitars around. I'm glad you like it.

YTSL, if it had been positioned just a couple of inches lower on that wall, I might have had the chance to hear how it compares. :)

M, I would have loved to hear the tone that a Whisky Box guitar makes too. :) Defnitely inventive idea.

Thanks again everyone for your comments. Have an awesome weekend too!

  5. I have to agree with the other--what an interesting guitar. I wonder if it ever gets taken down from the wall and played.

  6. Hi Maya, how are you? I've enjoyed reading your tweets, I've missed you on PH and the blogging world. The guitar looked pretty well positioned up on that wall so I'm not sure it comes down even to be tuned. :)

Thanks so much for your comments. Have a great weekend.

  7. It looks as if it would be impossible to make music with that thing. Mind you, I've heard a fair bit of Collony's stuff so I know he can make wonderful music.

Great choice for this week's theme.

    Have a super weekend.

  8. Hi Jerry, yes it does look questionable as far as making music. Wish I had been able to reach it so I could test it. :)

Thanks so much for liking my photo. Have a great week.
