PhotoHunt: One

Question:  What is the "one" thing that all these travel destinations have in common?

Montreal (Canada), Paris (France), Gdynia (Poland), Paddock Wood (UK), Ghent (Belgium), Rotterdam/Amsterdam (Netherlands), Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg), Perugia (Italy), Helsinki (Finland), Cologne (Germany), Dublin (Ireland), Oslo (Norway), Copenhagen (Denmark), Budapest (Hungary), Guthenburg (Sweden), Zurich (Switzerland), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

Answer:  Prince!

This is a repost photo, but I just couldn't help myself.  This past spring I was able to attend 8 of the cool one's Welcome to America 21 Stand concerts at the Forum in Los Angeles and it was so awesome.  I even wrote several posts to commemorate my Purple Funky Town experiences which you can find HERE.

In one of my posts I jokingly said that I wish I could win the Lotto here in California so I could follow his Welcome to Europe 2011 Tour.  Truth be told, if I had the time off and the money, I would've (in a quick heartbeat) taken a leave of absence from work to travel around to each and every town, city and country that Prince performed at this summer.

But with limited play funds and no chance of taking such a long leave of absence from work, the next best thing for this passionate and enthusiastic fan to do is to follow along on the Cool One's Welcome to Europe 2011 Tour using the internet where concert goers have been posting reviews (including setlists), photo and videos of his concerts.  *sigh*

You can find a complete list of the Cool One's Welcome to Europe 2011 Tour schedule on Prince.org.

  1. I should have guessed that you would feature the Cool ONE for this theme! It would be fun to go on tour with him but at least the internet lets you follow along.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Hi Annie, you guessed right. He, he.... yest the cool one, was in fact the one and only choice for my pick this week. :) It's kind of fun seeing all the fellow prince fans around the world. And the reaction is the same all over. People singing, dancing and having one big fun, purple funk fest party by his purpleness himself (still love your nick name for him).

Thanks so much for liking my pick for the week. Have a great weekend too.

  3. So since you're a Prince fan, how come your blog isn't purple themed? ;)

  4. I'm happy that he's spreading the purple love around the world. I'm sure he doesn't need the money at this point, so he's really doing it to make people happy!!!!!

  6. Hi YTSL, .... LOL, good question. :) shame on this Prince fan. My only guess is they didn't have a great purple theme layout to choose from at the time I created my blog that I felt would be worthy of his purpleness. he, he.

Hi Annie, you are spot on right. I think he really does enjyou making music and making people happy and connecting with his fans. For example here in LA he had some seats for just $25. That concert cost is unheard of for a fan to be able to see a live performance of artist of his calibur. And when he performs, you can really tell that he enjoys performing and loves the direct interaction that he gets from the fans.

Thanks so much girls for your comments. Enjoy your weekend.

  7. Hi Jerry, :) I actually had to sqeeze a tiny bit from my travel passion fund for my Cool One passion fund, but it was worth it. :) It's hard sometimes to have two equally great passios in one's life. Ha, ha. But Life should be lived and enjoyed, afterall.

Thanks so much for liking my take. Have a great weekend.
