PhotoHunt: Drink

One of the most unique drink I've ever had was not so much memorable for it's flavor (although it was very delicious), but for the atmosphere in which I drank it in . . .

Here is a photo of my 2nd Smirnoff Vodka cocktail. The first one slipped out of my hands, because the shot glass itself was made of ice and it was a tad slippery. He, he . . .

The big polar bear entrance to the bar . . . .

The cool interior . . . .

And here is the freezing cold ice bar where I enjoyed two more yummy smirnoff vodka cocktails on bar stools that were made of ice.

The fur seat covers made it possible to sit on the ice cold bar stools while enjoying your drinks.  And so we don't feel like Popsicles in a freezer, we are all given these jackets and mittens to wear to keep warm. They even had this 3-D mini movie for us to watch with accompanying cool effects like wind blowing and little snow flakes falling on us during certain scenes.

If you're looking for something fun and a little different to do while in Amsterdam, why not go check out the Xtracold Icebar for a very cool experience.

  2. We have a couple of ice bars here in Hong Kong too! I was led into one by the owner but I declined the offer to drink in the bar -- it seemed way too chilly! :D

  3. Hi Kathy! I remember when you visited the "ice" bar. I still want to go and check one out! Did the fur seat covers work? Since we don't have central heating I sit on a sheepskin on my couch, it really helps warm me up.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  4. Hi girls, thanks so much for your comments....

Annie, unique and fun is so right. Thanks for liking my photos. :) Have a great weekend too.

YTSL, I gather the bar stools didn't have these cool fur seat covers for you. :) I think I would've declined too if there weren't any warm fur seat covers. he, he.

Maya, you should definitely go check out an ice bar in your oz. The seat covers did help although it still felt a little cool. :) Maybe sheepskin make it a little warmer. Have a lovely weekend too.

Thanks again girls, have a great weekend.

  5. Looks like a cool spot for a drink - I think that ice or not no drink would be slipping through my fingers. LOL

  6. Hi Jerry, thankfully they generously gave me another one and trust me I didn't let my second and next 2 drinks drop. :)
