PhotoHunt: Looking Down

Looking down from the Campanile of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (Churches in Venice by AnnieNC) located on the wonderful island of Torcello in Venice, Italy.

There was barb wire around the viewing deck and it was hard getting my lens through the spaces to take my photos. And although I found a couple of spots where I could stick my lens through for an unobstructed view, this was still my favorite shot.

See more PhotoHunters HERE!

It's a nice 4-Day Long Memorial Day Weekend for me as Monday is a National Holiday in remembrance of all of our Military Personnel past and present and their families who dedicate themselves to keeping us safe here at home and abroad. Thank you all so much . . .

I thought I'd share how we celebrate a nice long weekend, Southern California Style with food, festivals, biking, music, sun, games, more food and a whole lot of good times and smiles!

And as an added bonus, there's going to be a whole lot of Purple Funk going down this long Memorial Weekend . . . .

Purple Funk Fest #'s 6, 7, and 8 .  .  .

Happy Memorial Weekend Everyone!

  1. What a wonderful view. You were so lucky to get to go up in that Torcello bell tower; a recent article gave me the impression that it might not ever re-open to visitors. Torcello is one of my favorite places on Earth, for sure.

I'm skipping PhotoHunt this weekend...I'm really excited about a long holiday weekend! Sounds like you've got an exciting one planned....I can't believe how lucky you are to get to spend even more time with His Purpleness! Have a blast, I know you will!

  2. Hi Annie, thanks so much for liking my photo. I feel very lucky and yet sad at the same time that others may not get the same opportunity to experience the same view from the tower. I can see why Torcello holds that special place for you. It is a very peaceful place. Maybe a little glimpse of how Venice may have been so long ago even.

I know what you mean about being excited for the long weekend! I could barely concentrate on work today thinking about the extra long weekend. :) I do feel very lucky. More time with his "Purpleness" is going to be off the hook exciting! Hoping he sings Adore at some point. I wish I could send him your way because I know you would love his Welcome 2 America tour. He has so far changed his setlist and done something a little different for each concert which only makes me want to go to all of them so I don't miss anything. :)

The weekend has now officially begun. Have an awesome weekend!

  3. That is a fantastic view! Hope you're enjoying the "funk fest" (I'm being extra careful with my typing here! :) )

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Hi Sandra . . . . I must still be in a serious purple funk fest cloud because it took me a second (at least it was only a secon) to get your comment! LOL! And I mean LOL literally! :)

Thanks so much for liking my photo. I'm so looking forward to reading about your trip coming up. If you have time (no pressure) it would be a treat to read your blog (and Girasoli's) and now that I've decided to put off Portugal for my Italy fix this year, I will only be salivating while reading your blogs. In case I don't get a chance to say, Safe Travels to you and have a wonderful Italian vacation trip! Ciao
