PhotoHunt: Education

According to Wikipedia, "Education in the largest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual."  You might say that Traveling to see and experience the world is a fabulous form of education.  And by far, the best education I've had on how to Travel and get the best out of my experiences has been from my fellow Slow Travelers, my blogging friends and my favorite website . . .

. . . which is moderated by a group of passionate and knowledgeable travelers and which was founded by Pauline Kenny who currently runs a wonderful website called . . .

When it started to snow in Amsterdam this last November, I ran out of my apartment to take photos.  It was so beautiful and I was so happy to be there that I thought about who and what got me to that point.

And from beautiful Berlin, Germany, a very huge thank you for giving me the best education about the world around me from yours truly . . . .

My apologies for misspelling Berlin, but it was freezing. :)

  1. Wow, Kathy, what foresight -- and gratitude there was/is -- in thinking to create such snow writings and take photos of them. :)

  2. I was also using SlowTravel as my education theme today.

It was taken last weekend when some SlowTrav folks went to Paso Robles for SlowBowl.... right here:

  3. oh, how i envy you! how i wish i could do what you are doing - traveling and visiting the world!

  4. What a cute idea, Kathy! Your messages provide a perfect take on the theme of Education.

  5. I agree - travel is one of the best ways to educate yourself about the world and people. I think it is so enlightening and really opens your mind.

And fun photos. I hope you are having a great weekend.

  6. Ingenious, K! Greatly entertaining and humorous post - M

  7. Hi everyone, thanks so much for your comments and for liking my photos. :)

YTSL, much gratitude...and with a fresh blanket of snow, I just couldn't resist. :)

Eden, looks like a few of us had s Slow Travel theme in mind. It's such a wonderful community of travelers and great resource. I really enjoyed seeing the photos of Slow Bowl you posted. Looks like everyone had so much fun.

Bing, thanks so much for stopping by. I am very grateful and appreciative that I am able to travel at least once a year. Its fun. :)

Sandra, I'm glad you liked my take. This was a pretty easy theme for me and all I could think about was travel and all of you for teaching me about art, history, Italy, Amsterdam, Berlin . . .

Marta, I'm glad you like my photos. It was so much fun and I had to hurry because the snow was very light and was beginning to melt which explains the flury of shoe prints. :) You're so right about travel, it is one of the most fun and best ways to learn about the world and truthfuly about ourselves.

M, I'm glad you enjoyed my post. It was a very fun theme and I had a good time with it too. :)

Thanks again everyone. Have a great weekend!

  8. I couldn't agree more - you get such a wonderful education about our world by travelling . . . now if only we oculd do more of it! *smile*

  9. Hi Jerry, thanks so much for your comments. And I am total agreement about the "more" part. :)

    Have a great day today!

  10. This is so clever! How great that you even thought of doing that. Better than snow angels since you didn't have to lay down!

  11. Hi Annie, thanks so much for liking my photos. And yes, writing Slow Travel on the snow is much better than snow angels. Although it would've been a good fit too. :)
    Have a great day today.

It's me Trekcapri (aka Kathy). Thanks so much for visiting and leaving a comment.
