On Friday and Saturday I'm going to chill and not do any sightseeing and just kick back at a cafe, may revisit a couple of hangouts that I enjoyed and then pack and get ready to leave for Berlin.
I'm feeling sad already and don't want to leave. I think the one big downside to staying in one place for two weeks or longer is that you begin to establish roots to call it home and I don't want to say good-bye. I already have problems with ending relationships albeit with a place and so for me to say goodbye to beautiful Amsterdam, well let's just say there will be some tears. The owner came by to see how I was doing and to give more fresh towels. She has been very nice and helpful.
Yes it will be hard to say good-bye to Amsterdam (what an amazing time you've shown me) .... I will write posts on yesterday's and today's and Wednesday's trip to Haarlem. And I'm working on another themed post based on a couple of comments I received . . .
Thanks everyone for stopping by and reading my blog everyone.
Don't worry, you will love Berlin too! At least I hope you will love it almost as much as Amsterdam.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your down time and safe travels on Sunday.
I'm just getting caught up on my blog reading - sorry I haven't been a consistent reader.
ReplyDeleteAmsterdam sounds like it was a great place to visit. I have never thought about going there, but your posts have made me want to do so.
I like your insight on how difficult it can be to move on from a place after you've established relationships and become comfortable. It's something I've always felt, but not been able to articulate. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone thanks so much for your comments...
ReplyDeleteShannon, I know I will love Berlin and although sad to leave Amsterdam I am really looking forward to my visit in Amsterdam. THanks and I'll definitely do a couple more posts before I leave here :) and then I'll check in from Berlin
Nancy, no worries about catching up with me. I've been doing a lot of blogging so comment when and if you can and feel free to read when and if you can. With the holidays coming I know that everone is very busy....I hope that one day you can visit Holland, it is really a fantastic country and the people are very friendly,
Colleen, I do tend to not want to leave places when I get comfortable. It's interesting to hear that others feel the same way. It's sort of that "good-bye" factor too. Not wanting good things to come to an end. But we do adapt when we get to the next journey or chapter . . . kind of makes life exciting I think too. Still, leaving and saying good bye is always so hard.
Thanks everyone . . . hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.
