Amsterdam: Distractions . . .

For November, today was actually a very pretty day in Amsterdam. The sun was out, the weather was cool (not cold) and I finally went to the market. :)

Albert Hein is a large supermarket and I stocked up on some fruits, these delicious freshly made croissants, water, coffee and a few other apartment living essentials. :)

Today, I didn't do much sightseeing except for checking out Dam Square, Magna Plaza and the exterior of the Nieuwe Kirk and Royal Palace (both of which were temporarily closed) . . . and then by surprise I bumped into an old friend ... :) What is a visit to Dam Square without seeing Madame Tussauds. That was so much fun . . .

I was just talking about Van Gogh and his SunFlower painting.

I'm posting my blog early before heading out for my evening explorations because I probably won't have time when I return and I leave tomorrow for Brugges Belgium.  Whoo hoo! I'm not sure that I will be able to blog since I'm going to travel light and just take my itouch. I have a blog application on there and may do a quickie and my daily tweets. I will do a better blog entry for beautiful Brugges when I return to Amsterdam in a couple of days.

Here we go, another wonderful train adventure!  I'll be back . . .

  1. That wax George is kinda scary looking! I love shopping at European grocery stores. It's fun to compare the products with the USA. Have a fun train ride!

  2. Have a wonderful time in Brugge. Have you seen CherryPie's blog (she's a Photohunter). She just got back from Brugge. She's still doing posts from Brugge.

It is a beautiful city. Be careful on the wet cobblestones. Enjoy the food!

It looks like you are having a good trip. Even though you say you didn't do much sightseeing today it sounds like you did heaps. It is nice that weather isn't too cold. I'm enjoying visiting Amsterdam through your eyes. Thanks for your posts and tweets.
