Travel Thoughts: What inspires you . . .

I saw this magazine at Costco the other day and couldn't resist buying it.

So what are the "Heaven on Earth", World's Must-See Destinations...I was impressed with how they came up with their list and with the photographs they took. So what was their criteria? They received a lot of input from people who had been on trips to dreamy places, from people tho had dreamed of going on dream trips and from people who had heard about people who had been on dream vacations. With a running theme like that, it's no wonder that this magazine cover jumped out at me as I attempted to pass it by. Even the girl at the check-out stand had to pause for a moment to read it, holding up the fairly long line behind me. I haven't had a chance yet to complete the read, but so far I am very intrigued and highly inspired.
And so there you have it. No matter where we are or what we are doing, we tend to find "inspiration" in sometimes the most unexpected and unusual places. For me on this faithful day, it was while checking out at the Costco Store.

  1. Ooooh, that is a delightful cover! So many tempting dream places on this earth. One of our themes is co-creating heaven on I really liked this.

Sending hugs from Barcelona which is pretty heavenly at the moment! ;)

  2. Hi Soultravelers3, thanks so much for your comments. I agree about the cover of this magazine and so appropriate of a theme. I have been following your journey over the years and I have enjoyed reading about your experiences and seeing your beautiful photos to all the heaven on earth places that you and your family have been to. I envy your passion and ability to travel the world, something I admit to day dreaming about doing one day soon.

Sending you and your family hugs back in heavenly Barcelona, a place I hope to get to visit in the future. I love Spain.

    Safe travels.

  3. The cover definitely looks heavenly! would love to see this magazine. I am guessing there are some great locations listed inside.

  4. Hi Girasoli, there are some familiar names, Venice, Tuscany London, Prague, Yosemite and then there were some very intriguing and places I have on my list but having gone like Machu Picchu, St. Petersburg, Astralian Outback, etc. and then there were some places I had not thought of like Petra, Torres del Paine, Serengeti and the photos are all amazing...Great to think about the possibilities. :)

Thanks so much for your comments and have a great weekend.

  5. Wow, that is a really intriguing cover! And the list of dream vacation sites sounds so interesting -- I'd love to see Petra some day! So many possibilities...

I hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend!

  6. Hi Sandra, welcome home! I didn't know that you had returned. I hope that your transition back goes smoothly. Thank you so much again for blogging and sharing your experienced while on the road. I really enjoyed reading about the towns you visited.

I'm looking forward to reading more about what your experienced and saw and looking at all of your photos.

Thanks for your comments. I remember seeing Petra on Indiana Jones and thought hmmm I'd love to see that in person. Egypt would be a fascinating place to visit, a place dreams are made of. So many possibilities is right.

Welcome home again and hope you have a great and restful weekend.

  7. Very cool cover, no wonder it jumped out at you! I wonder if it's still in stores, think I must have a look for it. Petra is on my wishlist! Someday... :)

  8. Hi Anne, thanks so much for your comments. I'm not sure if it is still out in the stores. If not, you can find it on for sure. It is a great inspiring book and a great coffee table book to have.

Hope you're having a wonderful vacation. Enjoy yourself.
