PhotoHunt: Fresh

"A new day is like a fresh start to something interesting, adventurous, exciting, fulfilling or special. And it's up to us to make it so" ~ Trekcapri

Sunrises to me always represents the beginning of each new day and they can be quite beautiful especially when you are traveling. I took this photo from the window in my room at the Hotel America. The hotel is located on the grounds of the amazing Alhambra high above the City of Granada in Spain. When the sun rises over the top of the Sierra Nevada mountains and onto the City and the grounds of the Alhambra it was breathtaking.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

  3. Beautiful, Kathy!

I love sunrises and every time I go to Italy, I tell myself that I'm going to get up very, very early some mornings to see the sun rise. Some day, I hope to actually do it!

  7. Hi Everyone, thanks so much for your comments...

Candi, glad you like my take. I am happy to say that I will finally have some play time coming up in the next couple of weeks. Whoo hoo!

Maya, it was really amazing waking up on the grounds of the Alhambra. The air was fresh and sweet. :) I took advantage before the crowds were let in to stroll around the grounds luckily it was without the fresh part, :)...

Leslie, thanks so much. I'm glad you like my photos.

Sandra, I'm glad you liked my photos. I envy your trip to Italy coming up. I think you will be very pleased when one day you do watch the sun rise in Italy. It's magical...

Girasoli, I'm glad you like my take this week. I love sunrises a lot and I love sunsets too. Both wonderful to photograph. How's your class going? I was inspired after reading your post to sign up for another intermediate class but I'm just not so sure I'll have the time to commit to it right now. I migh change my mind and still take it depending on how things continue to move along. There is one series specifically on Travel Photography that I really want to take. I'll have to ponder a bit more on that idea. I'm very tempted and inspired to do it though so maybe I will.

M, I'm so glad to be back. I've really missed my blogging friends! And I agree with you....Spain is gorgeous...

Marta, thanks for liking my sunrise. They really do provide a wonderful start to the day.

Thanks everyone. I get to catch up more today since it is a Cesar Chavez Holiday off for me. Have a great week everyone.

  10. I love your interpretation of the theme. Sunrises in Spain were special. Those clear blue skies make sunrise and sunsets really spectacular.

I'm a day person and see sunrises almost everyday, except in summer when the sun comes out too early (5:30am). I love seeing them when I travel.

  11. Hi Maria, yes the blue skies in Spain are one of the most beautiful things about my trip that I remember. That and the people. And it does make the sunrises and sunsets that much more beautiful. I really do love both sunrises and sunsets and enjoy it everyone I get to see them. In fact, my header photo was taken when I was lucky enough to be on a plane coming home. I was so lucky see such a beautiful sunset from the plane. I stared at it until it became pitch dark.

  12. Hi Maria, thanks so much for your comments. I remember the blue skys of Spain like it was yesterday. And you're so right, they made the sunrises and sunsets so much more beautiful. For some reason in Granada, I really enjoyed waking up before the sun, maybe because it was so peaceful on the grounds of the Alhambra. It is an amazing memory to have.

Thanks so much for your comments.
