PhotoHunt: Spotted

This photo is spotted with a lot of orbs (Wikipedia). I took it while I was assuming my "back of the pack" position at the Las Vegas Marathon. :)

I'm starting to get into the Olympic Spirit. Don't forget . . . the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics (Official Website) begins on February 12, 2010!

And to all of my wonderful blogging friends, thank you so much for your wonderful and very touching posts welcoming Elizabeth to her new home.It was such a cool surprise to wake up to this great virtual Welcome Elizabeth party! Of course, I'm so exciting I couldn't sleep and I woke up at the crack of dawn. Went to Petco last night to buy yet another little blanket for her. :) Thanks everyone! I really appreciated all of your comments, support, encouragements and helpful tips during my adoption process. Have a great weekend everyone! Edited to add: A very special thanks to my dear blogging friend and Elizabeth's new virtual auntie Maria for throwing this wonderful virtual Kitty Shower. Thanks so much Maria and to all of you. This was so cool.

  1. Congratulations, Kathy! I can't wait to hear more about how things are going, and see a little bit more of Elizabeth.

I hope her transition to her new home goes smoothly. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time together!

  2. Kathy, I think I am almost as excited as you are! I can't wait to hear all about her homecoming.

The Virtual Kitty Shower was Maria's idea, and I'm so glad she thought of it and that so many of our fellow Slow Travelers joined in!

Love your take on "spotted" -tons of orbs in that photo, very cool.

We've got about six inches of snow and it's still coming down. Supposed to keep snowing all day. The airport is closed and even the mall is closed! So I am going to hunker down with my cats and relax. I doubt I'll be able to go to work on Monday which is fine with me (long weekend!).

Anyway, I'll check in again later. Love the thank you note that Elizabeth made (she is a very talented cat!). Have a great day today!

  3. Hi Sandra, thanks so much for your kind comments and your post welcoming Elizabeth. I hope her transition goes smoothly too. I'm told that she is a very easy cat so hopefully it will. I have been pretty busy preparing for her arrival to make things as easy as possible for her. Thanks again for your welcoming post. Have a great weekend!

Hi Annie, thank you so much for your kind comments and I'm very excited too. Thanks for letting me know that it was Maria's idea. I am so thankful to her for thinking of such a great and touching idea and her daughter, Polaris, and to all of you for the surprise. I am really overwhelmed. As I started to read my blog roll this morning I was getting more and more emotional at the outpouring of welcome wishes for Elizabeth. A Virtual Kitty Shower is such a fabulous and creative idea. Much thanks to Maria for thinking of it. She is so nice. You all are.

I was surprised at all the orbs on this photo. I had a couple of them like that....and it being in vegas, makes me wonder. :)

Wow, six inches of snow and still coming down. Good thing you all stocked up with supplies. Staying home and off the roads is a good idea. I know I wouldn't want to drive in all that snow. That would be great if you had Monday off. I'm off too, so it gives me more time to work with Elizabeth in her transition.

I'm going to try to post some new photos of Elizabeth as soon as I can. I'm not sure how fast she'll adapt to her new home. I wonder if she'll duck under the bed? But that's okay, if I was thrown into a new environment I'd be scared too. I'll give her the space she needs until she feels comfortable and then I'll whip out my camera. :)

Thanks again Annie and enjoy your snow weekend!

  7. Kathy,
What a great take on the spotted theme, I thought it was a hard one. I love that shot with all the orbs.

Elizabeth is co cute, I can't wait to hear all the stories and see all the photos of her.

And yeah, I am too excited about the Olympics too.

  9. Hi Everyone, thank you so much for this fabulous Virtual Kitty Shower. Elizabeth is so lucky and so am I for having such wonderful blogging friends...

Barb, thank you so much for letting me know that Anne invited you to Elizabeth's shower. She's so sweet. You are all so sweet to participate and care. It was a fun party and Elizabeth and I enjoyed it very much. It took me a while to get more photos up...but I finally did. Hope you like them. It's really hard to snap photos of kitties unless they are still (aka sleeping. :))

Marta, thanks for liking my spotted orbs. :) Elizabeth's transition went very well, except for I was surprised that she started to miss her owners. Pets really are like children sometimes. It just never dawned on me. I was thinking that her owners were really going to be sad to leave Elizabeth and I though Elizabeth would be fine and dandy! Let the learning begin . . . :)

Anne, I am really touched and at so many of our blogging friends who came to Elizabeth's Virtual shower. Very cool! I am also very thankful and appreciative to Maria and Annie and you and everyone who came to the party. No words can really describe my apreciation...

Candi, I thought this was a challenging week too. I did have a couple of takes on the theme but since the olympics are fast approaching I went with this photo as a segway to Vancouver. :) I'm a huge fan of the olympics. I will try to watch and/or tape as many of the events as possible. My favs are the downhill, snowboarding and ice skating.

Sandi, thanks so much . . . but don't be too impressed. I'm a really slow runner but the good news is that I have managed to finish every race. :)

Thanks again everyone, it was a really fun party and I'm thankful to the organizers and to all of you who came. Have a great weekend.
