American Idol Season 9 . . . .

Whoo Hoo! American Idol Season 9 starts Tuesday, January 12, 2010 with a two hour special!

AI has produced some amazing talent over the years. Some contestants have gone on to have successful recording careers selling millions and some have even gone on to become Grammy and Oscar winners. It is a wonderful and entertaining show that can lead to finding new and undiscovered young talent in America. Well, okay minus Bikini girl...

So many questions to be answered! Will it be half as good as Season 8 when they had the likes of Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai. . . ? Will it be as successful without one of their original judges, Paula Abdul? Will it work with Ellen DeGeneres? Who will be this season's brilliant stand out talent? Who will be the next Tatiana or Bikini Girl?

I'm looking forward to season 9 and to finding out the answers to all of these burning questions Idol fans have been thinking about during the off season! I can't wait to see what new and awesome talent Season 9 will bring! And I really can't wait to see who will be our new "next" American Idol!

  2. Hi Candi, :) I used to be embarrassed that I am such an Idol fan but I soon realized that I can't help how I feel. It's kind of like fighting my passion for travel...it just can't be. :)

I wish you luck, but if you don't have a chance to follow it and are not able to comment on my entries, don't sweat it. I won't feel bad, honest.

  3. Isn't AI on Tuesday nights? If so, it will be interesting to see what happens since Lost will be on Tuesday at the same time.

I peek in now and then during commercials but only really watched some of the season that year the two girls from Hawaii were on. I am very excited for you and Annie though that the show will be back on knowing you are both huge fans.

  4. Hi Girasoli, yes AI will be on Tuesday nights. With all the changes they've made and a stiff competition from Lost, it will be very interesting to see what happens to their viewership. I really hope it is still as good as the past seasons, but this is the first time without one of their original judges, Paula Abdul, sometimes chemistry is important. But I get a kick out of watching the new talent because there are so many and often they just need a little break to make it big and that's the AI concept that I really like. Yes, it's so cool to know that Annie is a fan too. I think Menehune and Maria will watch it also. I also think Brenda and Marcia watches it as well. And maybe Candi :) I'm surprised how many Slow Travelers watch it. It's fun...

Thanks so much for your comments Girasoli...Have a great day today.

  6. Woo hoo! I can't believe it's almost time again. AI helps me get thru the cold winter months, for sure. It's going to be tough to top last season!

I'm not embarassed to be a fan either anymore. :)

I am curious to see what kinds of crazy twists they bring this year, with the new panel of judges etc. I hope they get rid of the "sing off."

    Happy Tuesday!

  8. Hi M, yes it does seem like only yesterday doesn’t it! Oops AI versus Lost will be an interesting tug of war. Thank goodness I’m not a Lost fan otherwise I’d be in trouble. :) And yes, Candi, you can always read my recaps and comments from Annie and M so not to worry.... he, he.

Hi Annie, Whoo hoo is right! I can’t wait for it to start up again. I agree that it’s going to be tough to top last season. Oh, I’m so glad that I wasn’t the only one who was embarrassed to admit to being an AI fan. I totally forgot about the twists and turns. I hope they get rid of that horrible sing off too. I’m still not sure about the save though. I thought it was good, but I just didn’t like how they discussed it openly in front of the contestant …maybe there is a better way to organize the save so it doesn’t come off like begging…I’m not sure how they could structure it though. I think they’ll also run into some time issues too because with 4 judges and I’m a huge fan of Ellen but sometimes her humor can take some time to get to the “punch line” and that’s going to be a challenge. I think Kara can be too wordy too. Well, it will be an interesting season. I’ve been seeing some preview commercials for the show and I’m beginning to get excited again! Thanks so much for liking my rainbow. I chose it because I love rainbows and I also felt it would be a great way to start the new.

Thanks again M & Annie for your AI Comments. Let the new season begin!
