PhotoHunt: In Memory of . . .

"If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me."

In memory of my Mom who loved flowers . . .

My photo of the week (which I set to a beautiful song) was taken on a beautiful spring day in St. James Park in London, England.

  1. Oh Kathy, I've got such a lump in my throat. I'd never heard that song and it's so beautiful and sweet. Your mom was beautiful too; I'm sure you miss her very much. It make me realize that I'm lucky that I'll be spending Mother's Day with my mom tomorrow. Your photo of the flowers in London is awesome too!

Been meaning to tell you that I love your Photo of the Month too. Thanks for the great "In Memory" post and hope you're having a nice weekend.

  5. Thanks so much everyone! I personally struggled with this week’s photo, but since it is only a day from the celebration of Mother’s Day, I just thought it was only fitting, so I’m glad you all liked it!

Annie, me too! :) This is a beautiful Hawaiian song by a famous artist in Hawaii who used to be in a popular group called Kalapana! It’s such a positive beautiful song and one of my favorites. I was very lucky to have such a wonderful mother and thank you very much for saying that she is beautiful. And you are right, I do miss her very much. Although she is physically not here, I feel like she still is. While here, she definitely gave me a life time of mothering though. I think you are very lucky to spend Mother’s Day with your mom. She seems like a very special person. I remember a post you did one with something she wrote during the Obama campaign. Very sweet. Thanks again for your comments Annie and enjoy and have a wonderful Mother’s day with your mom and family! Oh, and I’m glad you liked my Photo of the month. I was feeling quite “springy” this month. :)

Girasoli, glad you loved the poem, photo and song. I love that photo and wanted to play the music but after spending several minutes trying to figure out how to add a music player to my blog I gave up and just did a YouTube with the one photo and then snuck in my mom’s photo at the end. Sometimes photos can get a little distorted after adding them to youtube, but it turned out okay. Thank you so much for your comments Girasoli and have a wonderful weekend!

M, thank you so much for your comments. I’m very glad that my photo and post touched your heartstrings. :) Mahalo to you too!

Candi, glad you loved my photo and tribute! I have traditionally done a post each year on Mother’s day and when this PH theme was In Memory, I thought it would be cool to combine it with my Mother’s Day post. Thanks again for your comments Candi and have a wonderful Sunday!

Thanks everyone! Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

  10. What a touching tribute to your beautiful Mom. It’s a lovely way to remember her with a sweet song and heartfelt and loving words. I know how much one misses a parent when they are no longer with us but they are always in our hearts and they are watching over us from above.

Wishing you a lovely and peaceful week.
