PhotoHunt: Triangle

When traveling I enjoy waking up early and taking nice walks around town and sometimes these moments can be filled with delightful discoveries. Mother nature created this beautiful triangle shaped mountain in a small town called Flüelen, Switzerland.

  2. Hi Annie, thanks and you're soooo right. I was strolling along the lake (the same one by the way that I stepped into late at night) and I first saw the reflection in the water and then I looked up to see that snow capped gorgeous mountain! So maybe I'm thinking it was meant for me to step in the water! :) I love the water and I love the mountains and when they are together all I can do is smile!

I'm having a wonderful Easter Weekend so far! It was very overcast yesterday but today is looking beautiful and sunny! Cool!

I hope you are having an wonderful Easter weekend too!

  9. Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for your kind comments!

Jerry, thanks so much! This is another one of my favorites shots. And the bonus...triangle shaped! :)

Candi, thanks for your comments! I love this shot too. I actually noticed the reflection before the mountain and as soon as I saw both, I re-positioned myself to take this shot. Talk about luck! :)

Leslie, thanks for your comments. I thought this was a good shot too! And I was all happy with myself when I took it! :) Happy Easter to you too!

M, thank so much! Two in one...that's a very cool way to describe my photo! I think definitely yes on the Vernazza photo! A slice of heaven here on earth. So peaceful and beautiful, my kind of place.

Marta , thanks for your comments. I remember walking around and suddenly the reflection just caught my attention and then I looked up to see the mountain overshadowing the lake with the reflection, I was so happy with myself, first, for noticing it and then for taking the photo! And the bonus at least for this week, perfect Triangle shaped. :)

Girasoli, thanks so much. Yes I agree Switzerland is very beautiful. And I really lucked out with the little refelction off the lake. I was so happy to have noticed it. I can't remember when I wrote about stepping in the lake. It was a while back. It was pretty funny. The night before my friend and I went exploring. We decided to walk down by the lake and for whatever reason I was concerned that my friend my slip in the lake and so I walked pass her and warned her but then I ended up stepping both feet completely submerged in the lake. Til this day I can't explain what happened. Needless to say we laughed so hard and ended up going to bed really late because we had to stay up to dry my one and only pair of shoes for the trip! The next morning I walked back to the lake just for a closer look again.:) Happy Easter to you Too!

Thanks again everyone. Hope you all have a great Easter Sunday.

  10. Kathy, that's a remarkable photo. As Annie says, you really were in the right place at the right time!

Every year I tell myself that I'm going to start getting up earlier when I travel, to enjoy sunrises and quiet early-morning streets. Photos like yours encourage me to try harder this year to get up and out early when I'm in Italy!

  11. Hi Sandra, thanks so much for your comments. It was definitely a lucky shot that I was able to catch the reflection and moutain in the same shot.

If you do get a chance to wake up early during your trip in June you'll enjoy it. I love that feeling of watching the day start in the places I visit.

Thanks again for your comments Sandra. Have a great evening!

  12. What a beautiful photo, Kathy! And I love the reflection.

I'm an early riser at home but when traveling I struggle to get up early. I guess it is because I usually go to bed later than usual. I shall remedy that so that I can enjoy the quietness and the beauty of the early morning in places like Venice.

  13. Funny story. With my luck, I probably would have done the same thing.

My only hope of getting up early is the first couple or mornings while dealing with jetlag. This year I will be in Florence. I wonder what it is like there early in the morning?
