My crazy weekend . . . And Go North Carolina Tar Heels!

Had another crazy race weekend, but all for a good cause . . . . some candid shots!

Awesome weather . . .

I found a great position for some excellent action shots...

This other photographer had the same idea and was sort of in my way . . .

The dude finally gets out of my picture frame, but . . .

As I look up I discover that suddenly the runners are running off the marked course where the cones are and I'm right smack dab in the middle of the course with runners charging on both ends . . . Yikes!

I managed to get myself out of that mess and took more random shots. Here's VRed from Muziq Unlimited, providing some great music. These two brothers are extremely talented and entertaining! I told VRed that they need to try out for American Idol!

My best friends, Steve & Bea(who finished 4th in their divisions), Yay! Thanks for coming out! You guys smoked this course! *Edited after reviewing the results, to add that Bea also finished 4th.

And thanks to my B2V Team mates who also came... Team 237 soon to be Team 220 in 2010, thanks for coming out!

And who can resist our little four-legged runners! I love it when they have their little racing Bibs pinned to their T-Shirts! :) So cute!

And I want to give a big shout out to AnnieNC and her North Carolina Tar Heels who play in tonight's NCAA finals! Go Heels! Whoo Hoo!

  1. Looks like a fun weekend - those dogs are absolutely adorable! Your photos are great!

And thanks for the shout out. I can't believe it's finally here and that we really might win it all tonight! Woo hoo!!!

I just saw on the news that Michael Jordan got inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame today and that he'll be at the game tonight. I hope he brings us luck!

Boy, I can't wait to get out of this office and on the road to Chapel Hill!

    Go Heels!

  5. What a fun weekend. And the dogs look so cute.
And I am with you, Go Heels! Beat Michigan State!

  6. Hi Candi, thanks so much for your comments. Those dogs were the cutest! Another cutie was right behind these two but was out of my frame. He was so cute trying so hard to catch up with these two but his owner was holding him back and not keeping up with him . . . :)

And Annie's Tar Heels Did It!! They beat Michigan State! Whoo hoo!

  7. Great photos, Kathy -- it looks like the race was a lot of fun! Your friends look so happy -- possibly because you weren't run over by the pack while getting your photos from the start of the race!

If I haven't said this before, I also love your photo of the month from Vernazza -- spectacular!

  8. Hi Sandra, thanks so much for your comments. Glad you liked my Vernazza photo! I just love that view looking down on the little village. It is one of my favorite photos from my trip there. My second favorite was of the sunsets while sitting on the bench near the water. Very memorable.

Yes, maybe that's why they were so happy! :) That episode was embarrassing moment No. 1, the second was when I tripped and fell right by the finish line. Luckily only a small crowd of about 30 saw me! One guy remarked that he was highly impressed at how I protected my camera at all cost while going down. :) But hey as long as I didn't break anything but my ego, I tend to move on! :)

Thanks again for your comments Sandra and have a great day!

  9. What a fun weekend with friends and perfect blue skies. Doesn’t get any better than that! The corgis are just adorable.

I’m thrilled and excited for the Tar Heels victory. Annie must have celebrated ‘till the wee hours. I can’t wait to read her report on the celebrations.

Love your photo of the month. It’s a beautiful shot of the square that is the heart of Madrid.

    Happy Tuesday, Kathy!

  10. Hi Maria, thanks so much for your comments! I thought those were corgis! It was a fun weekend and the weather was perfect! I'm glad that you liked my photo! That is one of my favorite photos from that trip. I really want to return there one day again!

I'm also very thrilled and excited that Annie's Tar Heels won last night and I'm sure the celebrations lasted into the wee hours too! :) I'm looking forward to hearing all about the celebrations. I'm sure there will be more when the players return to Chapel Hill as well. Very exciting!

Thanks again for your comments Maria. Have a great Tuesday too!

  11. Yes, there was a big celebration yesterday when the players came home. 13,000 people showed up to greet them! I didn't go because it was at 2 pm and since I'd come into work late, I couldn't leave early. But I did watch some of it on TV.

This celebration will last for several weeks in one way or another. Fun!

  12. Hi Annie, I caught a little of that return home rally celebration with the Players. It was fun to watch all the smiles, dancing and celebrations. That's cool that there will be more fun celebrations planned in the weeks to come. Very well deserved to all the players, coaches and the entire community.

Hope you all enjoy all the post celebration festivities! It sure does sound like a lot of fun!

Glad to hear that you recovered from the other night. Have a great day Annie!

  13. Hi Kathy, sorry so late in commenting. It looks like you had a great time covering this race. I enjoyed seeing your friends. So happy the Tar Heels won!!

  14. Hi Girasoli, don't be sorry about anything. It's okay if you are late or don't read some of my posts, I totally understand when people are busy. There are times when I am late and don't get a chance to read someone's blogs too. I do try but sometimes it gets hectic for me too. Just feel free to read and post when you can or want to. Plus I know you have been working on your trip planning too and I know how much time that eats up.

And when you are able to post I really enjoy hearing from you and reading your great comments.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Good Friday and a wonderful Easter Sunday weekend!

  15. I've actually been sick. Most of spring break with a rare asthma attack and now I pulled a muscle by my ribs or something. I haven't even had time to work on my trip very much but I do catch up with all my favorite blogs through google reader almost daily. It just takes more time to comment which is where I fall behind. I even almost know what is going on with AI just from your posts :)

  16. Hi Girasoli, oh I'm so sorry that you have been very sick. I remember reading tht you have been sick. And that is terrible that is came during your spring break! That kind of sucks. And I'm sorry for your pulled muscle. I hope it is not something serious.

And it's too bad you didn't get to spend some of your spring break on your trip. BTW,I read that you have the i-touch! That is very cool. I really used mine a lot during my trip, especially when I needed to refer to some notes that I took while planning. Huge help!

I'm so glad that my AI recaps are keeping you updated! :)

Take care of yourself and have a great Easter Sunday G!

  17. Thanks. I appreciate your comments. My pulled muscle is getting better finally. First day I could wear a bra again. Of course doing "the boogie walk" - our May Day song - with my kids today didn't help!

I am excited to bring my itouch with me. I love that I can put word documents on it. I need to start getting them read now though so I don't forget anything. I also have wireless in a couple of hotels so hopefully I will be able to hook up and at least check blogs and maybe do very brief updates...or at least check in with twitter.

This is my crazy quarter at work, so I need to get organized with my trip stuff soon.
