"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." ~ unknown author
The hands of time is the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw this week's theme. And then I immediately thought about the photos I took of the famous Astronomical Clock which is located in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic. This incredible clock dates back to 1410 and is a remarkable piece of machinery.

Gee this is a beautiful clock. And your quote is one of my favorites. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot - and a perfect take on the them!e
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the hands theme, Kathy! What an amazing clock and that's such a great photo of it. Hard to believe it's so old because it's got a real high tech, modern look to it too. I bet it was great to see it in person.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the quote too! So so true.
Yes, my Heels looked unbeatable last night. What a great game they played. If they win again tomorrow, they will be in the Final Four! But Oklahoma is a good team too so I dunno..
I had to laugh this morning when I went to the grocery store and saw the new Sports Illustrated. The Heels are on the cover and the headline says, "Let's Get It On: Ty Lawson Leads the Surging Heels." Seems that song keep popping up this week! :)
Hope you're having a great loooong weekend!
Very impressive, Kathy. Great shot! And great take on the theme.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I appreciate your kind comments!
ReplyDeleteBarb, I love that quote but couldn't find the author's name? I love all things that makes me look at how much I have to appreciate and being able to live my life surrounded by great people and doing things that I enjoy doing is something I try not to take for granted. Have a great day!
Jerry, thanks for your comments. I wanted to add a second wider angle shot too to show how enormous this clock is. Totally unbelievable. Have a great weekend!
Annie, thanks for your comments. I loved your take a lot too. I like posting my photo and then looking at what everyone selected. It's so much fun looking at everyone's individual take on the theme. Very creative! And the photos are great too.
Congrats to your Tar Heels on last night's win! Whoo hoo. Enjoy the game tomorrow! I'm sure they will play a fantastic game! And that is so funny that the headlines quoted "Let's Get it On"! That song sure is following you around! :) I'm enjoying my nice long weekend so far! Have a great day today and a really great Sunday! Go Heels!
Candi, thanks so much for your comments. It is definitely one of my favorite photos from my visit to Prague! The architecture there is so amazing and so is this clock!
What a great clock ! Super post to go along with it - have a fun weekend! menehune
ReplyDeleteKathy, what an amazing clock! I’d love to see it in person and I know my husband would love it, also. The Wikipedia article mentions that the twelve Apostles are represented on the clock and that are visible at noon when "The Walk of the Apostles" takes place. That is so cool! Prague is on my list of places to visit in the very near future.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the lovely quote. Miracles abound, one just have to look at everything that surrounds us.
Have a fun weekend!
This has to be one of the most beautiful clocks I have seen. My grandfather used to fix clocks as a hobby. I have always been interested in them. I might just have to add Prague to my wish list just to see this clock. Thanks so much for sharing!! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful photo. So intricate. Thanks for sharing it. I feel bad that I missed PhotoHunt this week-too much going on the last couple of days and never got around to it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo, that clock is very beautiful! As Annie says, it looks so modern that it's a bit hard to believe it's 600 years old!
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone, thanks so much for your kind comments...
ReplyDeleteMenehune, glad you liked my clock! I thought your photo was awesome too! I had a great weekend, hope your's was wonderful as well!
Maria, oh...one day you and your husband have to visit Prague. I think you would totally enjoy it! Yes, on the hour the twelve Apostles make an appearance. The doors open just above the clock, a bell sounds and the Apostles come out and rotate around the front. A crowd gathers each time to watch it and applauds when it is done. Pretty cool! The architecture in Prague is like no other that I have seen! Such a beautiful city and I can see you and your husband really having a great time there!
I love what you said about Miracles abound and one just have to look at everything that surrounds us! So well said! Thanks for your comments. Have a great day Maria!
Girasoli, thanks for your comments. Fixing clocks sounds like a very cool hobby and I'm sure your grandfater enjoyed it very much. It must take a great ability and attention to detail. Prague is a beautiful and fun city full of history and awesome architecture and I think you would love it. Hope you have a great week and are feeling better!
Cindy, thanks so much for liking my clock. It definitely looks pretty intricate and involoved. I miss your photo hunt this week, but can understand how things can get busy. I'm looking forward to seeing your photo for next week! Have a great day.
Sandra, thanks so much for liking my clock. And yes, I agree with you and Annie that it does look modern and yet am surprised at how old it is. And to think that it survived any major damage in the war. I think that had to fix it at one point and added things along the way, but for the most part the main clock is that old. And it is very beautiful! Thanks for your comments Sandra.
Thanks again everyone for your comments. Hope you all have a great day!
What a brilliant clock!
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie, thank you so much! I think that clock is brilliant looking too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Leslie!
