The Alhambra-Spain Teaser . . .

Someone I know at work who just returned from a wonderful trip to Spain e-mailed me this photo. She took it from inside the Alhambra in Granada, Spain.

I can't wait for my 2008 Spain trip . . . Whoo Hoo!

  1. Oh that is gorgeous! What a lovely angle. I must show this to my mom, she was lucky enough to have visited the Alhambra on her trip to Spain and Portugal a couple months ago.

  2. Wow, gorgeous photos!! I am looking forward to reading all about Spain when you are there. I know I read this before, but when in 2008?

  3. Hi Anne, I bet your mom saw some of the same views on her trip. I also heard that the Alhambra has these wonderful gardens too. I'm excited!

Hi Girasol, I was just on your blog and saw the countdown clock at 15 hours! Where did time go. But I'm sure that you're packed and ready to go! My trip to Spain will be in November for 3 weeks. I just started sending out apartment/hotel inquiries now that I have an idea of my itinerary. Once I have my tickets I want to figure out how to add that very cool countdown clock!

Have an awesome time in Italy! We'll all be thinking about what a wonderful time you'll be having!

    Ciao'

  4. Thanks kathy. The countdown widget is really easy to set up. If you click on my countdown widget, it will take you to the site. There is an option where you add your own photo. It took a few tries resizing it to get it the way I wanted it. When I get back, I would be happy to help you set it up if you are having trouble. Thanks again for your wishes of a wonderful trip. :)

  5. Hi Girasoli, you're probably in Italy by now! Lucky you . . .

I actually did go on your blog a few days ago and clicked on that clock which brought me to their website. I tried for several minutes to figure it out and couldn't do it so I gave up. I'll try again when I get a chance but if I can't do it then it would be cool if I could ask you how you did it.

Thanks so much for the offer!

  6. That's a really interesting shot -- I've wanted to see The Alhambra for a long time.

I'll be interested to hear more about your November trip as you continue planning!

  7. Beautiful photo of a magical place! Brought back wonderful memories of my visit 28 years ago. Are you planning on visiting the Alhambra at night? Doru (from Slowtrav) highly recommends a night tour.

  8. Hi Sandra, I thought that was an interesting angle too. I can really begin to see the influences in the architecture.

I tend to make general comments here about my trip, but I am blogging about the details of my Spain trip on a separate blog mainly because my entries are usually unedited and made on the fly. I moved it up so it will be more visible, in case you want to take a peak.

Hi Maria, I'm very excited to hear that you've been to the Alhambra already and that you found it to be a magical place. I actually did read Doru's awesome trip report and loved it. I will totally make sure to visit this magical place both during the day and at night! Thanks for mentioning Doru's report, I really need to re-read it again.

  10. Hi Annie, yes, I'm very exited. I actually enjoy the late in the year trips. First I get to travel vicarioulsy through others going on their spring and summer vacations and then I still have my own late fall trip to look forward.

It's like traveling all year round. And like you said, it helps to have the whole year to plan. Plus it's low season (an added money saving bonus). :)

    Have a great week!

  11. I love "low season" - not only does it save money but it's also less crowded and more peaceful.

You have a great week too!

  12. Hi Annie, you're so right! Less crowded and peaceful is another added bonus for low season travel!
