My little Venice . . .

I was recently telling Slow Travel Blogger, AnnieNC, about my Giovanni Moro Miniature souvenirs that I purchased on my Venice trip (This post is for you Annie).

Here is a photo of the five beautiful pieces plus a little stand alone bridge and gondola. You can see the bridge connecting two of my buildings and the little gondola in the front.

Here is a photo that I took of the Palazzo Ca' D'Oro.
And here is a photo of my Moro Miniature of the Palazzo Ca' D'Oro . . .

I just love my Moro Miniatures! It is a constant reminder to me of how beautiful Venice is and how much fun I had during my two weeks there.

Venice is truly a magnificent city. And purchasing my moro miniatures I'm able to bring a little bit of Venice back home to Southern California.

I can't wait to return to Venice so I can add to my hopefully growing collection!:)

  1. Awesome! Those are so beautiful and I love the way the ones you bought all work together. You know, I've walked by that store and looked in the window, but never really thought about buying anything but now I'm thinking that I will look more closely next time I go to Venice.

    Thanks Kathy!

  2. Hi Annie, so you know the actual store? Wow, that's so cool! I also purchased several nice custom pens to give to my co-workers from that store.

I'm so glad you said that my pieces go well together. I took forever deciding which pieces to get, because they all looked really nice.

It's a cool store so definitely check them out next time you're in Venice!

This is funny, so I have to tell you that when I looked at the close-up photos of my moro houses, I noticed that they had "green" doors on them. I immediately thought of that great entry you did about that house with the green door! I couldn't help but smile.:)

Thanks again for the inspiration for this post Annie! :)

  5. Hi Anne & Marie:

Thanks for your comments! I agree that these little miniatures are great. And Anne you're right about the entire replica of Venice. I thought it was pretty incredible when I first saw it.

And to think that I had just learned about these Moro miniatures right before leaving for Venice. It was a thread started by another Slow Traveler, Bailey and Colleen one of the moderations gave us more information on where to look for them. And I did! And I'm glad that I followed their advice.

And as you said Maria, the detail is incredible. The work that must go into each piece is really amazing and I think the artist is very talented. I think that bridge is cute too. It was something like 8 Euros and I just had to get it. I mean my little Venice just wouldn't have been as great without at least one bridge. I wish I could have purchased the Maria Salute church but it was way over my price range. Maybe next time . . .

Anne & Maria, thanks again for your kind comments!

  6. Oh yes, I think they look wonderful together - you did a great job! And that is too funny about the green doors - I didn't think about my photo but your pieces do have a lot of green doors. I wonder if I will even run into "my" green door again in Venice - I was very lost that day and don't really know where I was (somewhere in Castello)!

And I was joking about "no pressure" when I mentioned your trip report on my blog (I was serious when I said "take your time" because I know it is fun to continue relieving your trip as you work on it, just like blogging is).

  7. Hi Annie, I thought your "no pressure" comment was great and very funny! I feel so honored and I am so appreciative that you mentioned my blog. And you said such nice things too.

I do enjoy blogging a lot, but I think I really enjoy reading everyone's blogs more. I think your blog and all the Slow Travel Blogs are fun to read and a great source of information and inspiration.

Isn't Venice one the best places on this earth to be lost in! Sometimes part of the fun for me was getting myself unlost! :)

    Thanks again Annie!

  8. Me too! I love "getting unlost" and then lost again ten minutes later!

Thanks so much for all your support of my blog and your great comments; it really makes it so much fun to know that all my new friends are out there reading!

  9. Hi Annie, Ahh yes, I had a similar getting lost again reoccurring condition as well. It was particularly fun . . . when there was a nice gelato place in the near vicinity! :)

I just love reading your blog a lot and have learned so much. You're a great informative and creative writer that keeps us wanting more.

I totally agree with you that it's fun to have such great new friends on the ST community reading each others blogs, exchanging ideas and sharing information. A truly amazing group of people.

P.S. Final three next week on AI! :)
