Saturday's PhotoHunting: Something Outdoors

This theme was a bit of a challenge for me because I have so many outdoor photos and I just couldn't decide what my take would be. And to top it off I just got my computer back after being sick with a virus. Well, it's better now and I'm so happy, but it took me awhile to re-organize my external drives and find all my photos. :)

I love being outdoors and my favorite vantage point seems to be from a position up high and looking down. There's just something thrilling about being closer to the sky and clouds.

Amazing view and moment sitting on the Yosemite Half Dome and overlooking the valley floor.

From the top of Arthur's Seat overlooking the City of Edinburgh.

And I will always remember my Path of the Gods hike & meeting my hiking buddy on the Amalfi Coast.

And this November, I'll have the opportunity to have the highest vantage point that I've ever had outdoors when I stand on the grounds of Machu Picchu. :)

  3. Isn't travel incredible? At 69 ( in a month ), I've been blessed to visit 45 countries and 25 Caribbean islands. Never made it to Machu Picchu which was one of my dreams. Since my retirement for my 45 year nursing career, budgetary constraits have limited my travels - though I've spent several months of the last two years in India ( I'm now in Mumbai for six months ).

My “something outdoors post” is of three West Coast, USA, cities.

  5. Hi everyone, thanks so much for your comments,

ECL, Mother nature is pretty awesome and we are so lucky to be able to enjoy so much of our outdoors. It's great.

Marcy, thanks so much for liking my choices. I'm looking forward to my MP trip, thanks so much for the well wishes.

RNSANE, wow, 45 countries and 25 Caribbean islands. That is awesome. I wish I could see it all, but I can only afford 1 major trip a year and have to choose wisely. MP has been on my must see list for so long and I am looking forward to it so much. 45 years in nursing is a long time, kudos to you for your accomplishments and its nice that you are enjoying your retirement years. I have wanted to visit India some day too, but not sure if or when I can manage that trip. There's just so many places and experiences I would like to see and have. Picking one each year is a challenge so I have to rely upon where and what calls out to my heart and soul the most and that's what I go with now days. :)

YTSL, I think you're an awesome hiker! I've been lucky to be able to enjoy some magnificent views so far and I'm looking forward to MP but other places I'd like to see would be Asia (specifically China), more of Switzerland/Italy,and I would love to see the Himilayas. So little time and money! :)

Thanks everyone. Have an awesome weekend!

  6. Wow Kathy, these are awesome photos! Very beautiful and inspiring. And I'm so excited about your trip to MP - I know it's been on your wish list for a long time now. So glad it's coming up and I'll get to go with you vicariously!

I've been watching airfares to Venice - they are very high right now and my work schedule is so nuts, I'm not sure if I'll be able to take a big enough chunk of time off to justify spending that much $$ on airfare. But I hope I can go somewhere this winter even if it's not Europe.

OT but this week for the first time, I watched the X Factor. I enjoyed it! Seemed that Simon has gotten less mean, but still funny. And some of the performers were amazing!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

  7. Hi Annie, thanks so much for liking my photos. Yes, I am so excited to be able to see MP.

Airfares are so crazy, even to South America it is the same as going to Europe. I hope that prices come down for you so you can visit Venice. I'll keep my fingers cross that the airfare gods will give you some awesome deals for your winter trip.

I know what you mean about work. It has been so crazy at work for me as well. I'm hoping by the time my trip comes it will slow down. I hope work calms down for you as well.

That's cool that you enjoyed the nicer side of Simon on the X-Factor. I haven't really kept up with that show. Not sure why I can't get into it. I tried to watch the voice and so you think you can dance, but lost interest. I am a big fan of Big Brother, Survivor and Amazing Race though. :)

    Have a great weekend too!
