Saturday's PhotoHunting: A Play of Light

For another project I did, I wanted to learn how to shoot these cool light trail photos. I found this website HERE and then went to Manhattan Beach Pier with my tripod and my remote timer.

It's not exactly the best trail light photo around, but it was my first try and I was pretty excited to actually see the light trail in my photo when I got home. :)

I also wanted to learn a photo technique called Bokeh, which is defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light". (Wikipedia)

At first I tried a staged bokeh effect using one of my B2V winner's mug and a set of christmas decoration lights.

But I also tried my hand at some natural bokeh.

  3. Hi girls, hanks so much for your comments...

YTSL, photography is a hobby for me. I'm more interested in the subject matter and storylines of photography, but every now and then I get interested in technique and want to experiment. :)

Sandi, thanks so much for liking my photos.

Annie, the light trail effect is really cool. I don't have a lot of free time to experiment but enjoy trying things out when I do. :) Have a great weekend too.

Gattina, thanks so much. I was very excited to see that light trail when I got home. :)

Thanks everyone. Hope you all are have a wonderful weekend.
