Saturday's PhotoHunting: Favorite Household Appliance

I was going to post a photo of my coffee maker for this week's theme, but my photos just didn't turn out interesting and so I decided to go with my second favorite....which isn't actually a powered appliance.

Garlic is a very commonly used ingredient in many of the dishes I like to cook, but rather than pulling out my food chopper just to dice a couple cloves of garlic, I use this non powered ceramic garlic grinder.  Quick, easy to clean and environmentally friendly. :)

  2. Hi YTSL, I have to admit that I use the plate much more because it is easier to use. Just rub and scrape. :)

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  5. That is very cool, I didn't know such a thing existed! I like the colors and design too. I love garlic (but have to agree with you that the coffee maker might be the most fave or most important appliance in my kitchen).

Hope you're having a great weekend!

  6. Me again - I just finished reading a book called "Paris to the Pyrennes: A Skeptic Pilgrim Walks the Way of St. James" by David Downie. He and his wife walked the French route (which I'd never heard much about). Fun book - very interesting!

  7. Hi Annie, thanks so much for liking my photos. I love the colors too.My coffee maker is the first thing that goes on (next to my light) in the morning. :)

That book sounds good. I'll have to find it on Amazon. The Frances route is the most popular but I read about other routes to Santiago like from Paris and from Portugal. I've heard people doing more than one route, which sounds so cool. I've read a couple of books, one in particular by this comedian from Germany. I love reading about peoples accounts and experiences doing the camino. Now I want to really read David Downie's book too. Thanks so much for sharing your feedback on it.

    Have a wonderful week.

  8. I have never seen a garlic grinder ! What I use is a garlic squeezer, but then you only get the juice.
