Saturday's PhotoHunting: Water

For this week's theme, I give you beautiful Venice!

Venice is a city filled with small and narrow calles (streets) and surrounded by water and century old buildings.  there are beautiful canals that winds through her like poetry in motion. ~ Trekcapri (Venice Rediscovered)

  2. Venice is the ideal place for special water pictures ! I have been there several times, as it is not so far from where Mr. G.'s family lives.

  4. Hi everyone, thanks so much for your comments....

Ewok, thanks for liking my photo. Venice is so beautiful and unique that there is an endless supply of interesting and beautiful subjects to photograph.

YTSL, :) I was tempted as I have quite a collection of water photos from trips, but the uniqueness of Venice trumped everything even my beloved Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast and Capri. Scotland, Cadiz, Home beaches . . . :)

Mar, thanks so much for liking my photo...

Gattina, you are so lucky to get to Venice several times. I've been at least three times now and can never tire of visiting this beautiful city.

Annie, I love Venice too. And the front of the Vaporetto was an ideal place to soak in the views of the Grand Canal from the water. :)

Thanks so much everyone for liking my photo. Have a great weekend.

Hi Kathy, just saw this about Argentina music - thought you'd be interested. Bet you are getting excited!

    1. Hi Annie, thanks so much for sharing that link. I find that the music has a bit of a Spanish influence but not completely. The article points to Klezmer which was brought over by Jewish Immigrants from Eastern Europe. Seems almost techno.

I also think the Tango is a wonderful genre, not quite as upbeat as Flamenco from Andalucia but still very romantic. It will be fun to watch some of the street artists around town. I'm not sure yet if I will see a formal show or not but I'll see if I can find something interesting when I'm there and wing it. :)

Thanks so much Annie. The article makes me have a better understanding of their music and the influences. Have a great rest of the week.

  9. It's funny because on my second trip to Venice, I stumbled across a Venetian Tango club dancing in campo San Giacomo dall'Orio. It was really fun to sit outside, drink a prosecco or two, and watch them dance! So I can't wait to hear about what you experience when you are there in the home of the Tango.

Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Annie, how cool to have stumbled onto Tango dancing while in Venice. What a great experience! I would've loved to have seen that too as well as that glass or two of prosecco. I am looking forward to seeing some live Argentine Tango dancing while there. I'll have to do photo and video of that. :)

      Have a great weekend too!
