Saturday's PhotoHunting: Kitchen

A present day kitchen . . . I took this photo in a very popular restaurant called the Pancake Bakery in Amsterdam.

And here's a kitchen of the past . . . . the remnants of a kitchen in possibly a food stall or restaurant in the ancient city of Pompeii.

One of the things I love about travel is being able to visit the present as well as the past.

To see more PhotoHunters, you can visit Gattina's Kehole Pictures website HERE!

  1. I agree with you re the wonders of travel. When going to historic and just old places, I often get to wondering and thinking about the people who've been to those places before me -- and the tales those buildings' walls can tell... :)

  2. What a great idea, to contrast these two kitchens! (Unfortunately, I'm now thinking about pancakes......)

Hope you have a great weekend, Kathy!

  3. Hi Girls, thanks so much for your comments...

YTSL, I feel the same way...I always wonder what stories can be told by so many of the places I've visited. It's a cache but true, if only these places could talk.

Sandra, lol! And now by you thinking about pancakes, I have a craving for them too. :) BTW, I am loving your book! You are such a great writer!

Thanks so much YTSL and Sandra for your comments. Have an awesome weekend!

  6. I have always wondered how do the people in the past cooked without the modern facilities of a kitchen. At museums, looking at the display of some of the simple gadgets they made for cooking preparations, I am curious how the food tasted.

I would love to hear stories about that antique kitchen.

  8. Hi girls, thanks so much for your comments....

ECL, I wonder about that too. :) Sometimes I think old school way of doing things make the food we eat not only more delicious but healthier. I prefer stove/oven cooked meals over microwave meals. I think the stories from that old kitchen would be interesting too.

Annie, thanks for liking my contrasting photos. And let me tell you their pancakes are delicious. I went back a second time. :)

Thanks ECL and Annie. Have a great day.
