The "Via Condotti (Via dei Condotti) in Rome, Italy is a busy street lined with stores selling high fashion like Valentino, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbanna, Cartier and Salvatore Ferragamo.
But if you're like me and can't afford to actually buy something here on the Via Condotti, get a cup of gelato, have a seat on the Spanish Steps and give yourself a very special Audrey Hepburn/Gregory Peck Roman Holiday moment and enjoy being in Rome! That, to me, is priceless . . .
If I ever visit Rome, I'll definitely do what you did -- eschew the high fashion stores and soak up the atmosphere in a cool locale. ;b
ReplyDeleteHi YTSL, soaking is much more fun than spending all my cash. You will love it! And the gelato isn't too shabby either. :)
DeleteHave a great weekend.
Very Roman Holiday, Kathy! Coincidentally, just yesterday I went to the Palazzo Colonna gallery where they shot the final scene of Roman Holiday (the press conference where Audrey Hepburn's character realizes that Joe is a journalist!)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, ooooh how exciting. I loved that scene! It looked very elegant in the gallery and what a great ending for the movie. I would love to see it one day.
DeleteThanks so much for your comments. Have a great evening.
Loved the picture of the fountain. You know me and my knack for people watching. ;)
DeleteHi Sis, thanks for liking the photo. I took it on that trip I went with Bea. We bought a Gelato cone, sat on the steps and pretended we were Audrey Hepburn. :0 You would love it here because you can do loads of people watching while enjoying gelato! :-D Have a wonderful week. today is my 9/80 day off and I slep in big time. woke up and 7:30 and I never wake up that late. :)
DeleteI love Roman Holiday! What a great movie. I enjoy window shopping in Italy - even though I'm not a fashionista at all!
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, me too. I have it on itunes. :) It is a classic. me too again. I'm not a fashionista. I'm more of a Penny's or Kohls kind of gal. :)
