Saturday's PhotoHunting: Tree Branches

These Tree Branches provides a cool shade for hikers.

This is a photo that I've posted HERE before.  It was taken while hiking along the Sentiero degli Dei (“Path of the Gods”) trail on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. And just under the sign you can see a glimpse of my little hiking buddy who I met on the trail.  Not only did he keep me company but he actually escorted me all the way to the town of Nocelle.

Tree branches are also used for hand rails on some sections of the trail.  Check out my little hiking buddy waiting patiently for me at the top of this uphill section. :)

  3. Hi Kathy --

I couldn't see your little hiking buddy in the first photo but could see him clearly in the second. How nice that he provided you with some company along the way.

I had a similar experience around Chinese New Year last year on a hike with two friends in the northern part of Hong Kong last year. Normally, unaccompanied dogs we see on trails in Hong Kong are, alas, feral and on the scary side. But this one was friendly and almost wanted to guide us -- we called him the spirit dog. :b

  4. Hi YTSL, thanks so much for your comments. Yes it was heaven sent that he showed up when he did to keep me company as I pretty needed it at that moment.

That's an interesting story. I'm glad that you met up with a friendly dog. I'm wondering if my hiking buddy was feral too, because he was very shy and didn't come close to me and there was not owner nearby, unless he belonged to somebody in town and went for a walk on his own.

As Annie mentioned, it's pretty cool the things we experience while traveling. Hiking kind of reminds me of that because you crash into some interesting people and animals. :)

    Have a great weekend!

  7. I've only spent a couple days on the Amalfi Coast and we didn't have time for hiking so I have really enjoyed hiking vicariously through your words and photos. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Hi Anne, thanks so much for your comments. The hiking trails are pretty nice because you have such fantastic views. Since I was there in November there were very few hikers on the trail which made my little hiking buddy all the more welcome to me. :)

    Have a great week.

  11. Hi Kathy, what beautiful photos! Sorry I'm tardy in commenting; my brother has been here for almost 2 weeks of his 3 week stay, so things have been hectic!

  12. Hi Sandra, I remember you saying that your brother was going to visit you in January. I think it's cool. I'm sure that he is enjoying his experiences and seeing Rome with you. Maybe this visit will inspire him to travel to Italy again.

I really appreciate you taking the time to visit and comment. No worries about commenting late or anything.

Wishing you and your brother more good times in the next week. Take care and have fun!
