Saturday's PhotoHunting: Joy

This was actually a tough theme for me because there are so many things that gives me joy and to find one visual to express it was a bit of a challenge.

But when it comes right down to it, nothing warms my heart and brings Joy in my life more than being with and spending time with family and friends (including my wonderful Internet friends).

I took a photo of this cool looking purple heart just off the main square in the town of Delft in the Netherlands.  The famous Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer lived here. Among his works, I would have to say that "The Milkmaid" and the "Girl with a Pearl Earring" are my two favorites. The town is also known for their Defltware which are hand made and beautifully painted. I also had the opportunity to visit one of those factories, which I featured HERE on a previous theme.

  13. Ha, love your photo! Vermeer reminds me of a college Art 101 class. His paintings were easy to remember because of his technique. While i really hated that class (boring instructor) it did lay a foundation for me in art appreciation!

  14. Hi M, thanks so much for your comments. I'm glad Vermeer's work (not your boring teacher) gave you an art foundation early on.

I didn't learn of his work unti my visit to Amsterdam and I'm glad that I was introduced to his wonderful work.

    Have a wonderful week.
