ABC WEDNESDAY: B is for . . .

~ Beach ~

Feel the cool ocean breeze,
 brush through my hair.
Feel the soft white sand caress my toes,
no other feeling can compare.
Hear the melody of the waves,
as they wash ashore.
It's here on the beach,
my heart, my soul, they soar.

I know this is a little sappy, but well with me sappy is sometimes what you get. :)

I've been very fortunate to travel to some pretty awesome places with some very beautiful beaches.  But IMHO, I would have to say that the best beaches that I've been to are located on the islands of Hawaii (Wikipedia)!

What can I say, you can take the local out of the islands, but you can't take the islands out of the local. :)

  2. Kathy, I like the poem! Not sappy at all (but there's nothing wrong with sappy anyway). And of course, your images of these beautiful beaches are wonderful. Hawaii is definitely on my travel wish list.

Hope you're having a good week.

  6. This is beautiful, Kathy. It's such a precious gift when people share what makes their hearts soar. Thank you for sharing this connection you have with beaches...although now I really want to go to Hawaii! I imagine girasoli will relate to this post :)

  7. Hi everyone, thanks so much for liking my beautiful beach and for your comments....

Carver, thanks so much for liking my beautiful beach. I like it a lot too. Glad to have this photo to revisit whenever I want to.

Annie, I'm glad you like my poem and sappiness. :) It's fun to find my inner poet (borrowing Anne's inner child phrase). Oh I'm sure that Girasoli & M will join me in saying, definitely put Hawaii on your wish list. It's not quite Venice, but I think you will love it, just substitute a glass of prosecco with a glass of mai tai and you're good to go. :) Have a great week too.

Roger, ditto.... I could totally be there right now too. :)

Chubskulit, thanks so much for your comments and for liking my beautiful beach.

M, Oh yeah! Thanks for liking my poem too. :)

Anne, thanks so much. Like I mentioned to Annie, I borrowed your inner child phrase to say I sometimes have to let my inner poet in me come out for a little air. :)Feels good to share. I was thinking of Girasoli while writing this post because she is so lucky to live there and visit these beautiful beaches anytime she wants. I can only visit in my thoughts. I definitely thing you and Annie should visit.

Island Rambles, glad I could share some beach warmth with you during your winter. Cheers back to you.

Thanks so much everyone for liking my beautiful beach. And now I'm craving a Mai Tai, soft sand and the sounds of the ocean. Time to play more Brother Caz.... See you all next Wednesday for "C".

  10. Love the video you made and a nice short poem to accompany the post.It made me wish I can go back. :) Btw, that concert you asked me from my photohunt post is, "The Greatest Hits concert" by A1, Blue and 1/4 member of the 98 Degrees next month. Three major acts on stage never happened before. :D

  12. Cool photo!

Yes indeed, "no other feeling can compare" and no other place in the world as beautiful as the beaches here in Hawaii (or at least so far in all the places I have been).

Were some of the photos in your slideshow of Ko'Olina? Loved the photos & music.

  13. Hi G, :) thanks so much for your comments and liking my photos. Yes as far as all the places I've visited , the beaches in Hawaii are still the best in my mind. Someone told me that the beaches in greece are maybe better but I'll reserve that thought until after I visit there. :)

It's been a long time since I visited and I'm not sure exactly of the name. There's a nice golf course and hotel nearby. It's a nice place. I wish I knew you back then though, I would've loved to have gotten togther.

  14. Hi Kathy,

It really is too bad we did not know each other when you were last in Hawaii. You will just have to come back and visit again sometime! :)
