Happy Mother's Day

Not a day goes by that I don't think of my mom and all that she did and sacraficed to help me to be the person that I am today.

I just got home from my third Prince Concert.  It was an awesome Purple Funk Fest weekend!  During tonight's party (I mean concert) there were moments during all that dancing, whoo hooing and screaming that thoughts of my mom surfaced.  Let me share a little something with you all . . . Mom loved to sing, dance and she loved music.  She was really cool that way and I know she woud have loved seeing the Purple One peform live.

Mom you gave me so much in life and one of the things that I truly treasure is how you gave me your love for music.  Many thanks and much love to you on Mother's Day. . .

And a very Happy Mother's Day to all the very special Moms out there!

  2. Hi Girls, thanks so much for your comments . . .

Maya, thanks for liking my post. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Sandra, thank you, my mom was indeed a wonderful person and as you said, fun. :) She would have totally enjoyed the purple one and would've been up off her seat dancing. It was such a great concert and I was lucky to get to go two nights in a row. We had such a great time, got lost out in the parking lot Friday night for a while though :) but other than that a great time.

Maya & Sandra, thanks so much for your comments. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day Sunday evening...

  4. Hi Annie, ah yes, his "Purpleness" (I love that term!) was in rare form, just one big party, great music, lively crowd, and some great moves by the Purple one ....he really raised the roof off the forum. And Adam Lambert was even there and was brought on stage with a few other lucky fan and celebs to dance with the cool one! I wasn't sure it was him until I read a tweet from Bren, a fellow ST'er and she confirmed it was him. It was cool to see him....

Thanks so much for your comments. Hope you have a great day today.

  5. OMG, I can completely imagine Prince and Adam Lambert making some beautiful music together....wouldn't that be awesome?!? That is so cool that he was there dancing on stage. I really hope I'll be able to see Prince again....he came through NC last month but it was a Wednesday night and too far away from me to go on a work night. You are lucky that he played so many nights in your area!

  6. Hi M, thanks for liking my post. It used to be really sad thinking about my mom and to some degree it still feels so, but over the years I always remember with fondness the many things she did and meant to me and it always makes me feel happy and thankful. I am so happy she passed on her love for music to me. She would have totally got funky at the Purple One's concert.

Hi Annie, oh that's too bad you missed his concert. Major bummer. It's too bad it was Wednesday. If it was on the weekend it would be eaiser for people coming in from further away. I had read somewhere on one of the fan sites that people actually flew in from New York to attend his concert here in LA, so you are right, I feel very lucky that he is performing so close to where I live and doing 21 concerts. I hope to see more of his remaining performances. I think he has a few more coming up. He promised 21 in total. Whoo hoo! Maybe, he'll go back to NC to perform more dates. Prince can be very unpredictable and he tends to surprise people by adding more tour dates, so you should keep an eye out just in case. If I read anything about any tour dates in NC, I will totally alert you to them. Hopefully it will be in your immediate area.

It was very cool to actually see Adam in person even though I wasn't that close to the stage. I actually got busted several times for snapping photos during the concert but there were probably 1,000 other people taking photos. I made my friend sneak down to the lower seats with me so we can try to get a better view of Prince during his last Encore performance. I wanted to go all the way near the stage but there were a lot of security. :)

Thanks M & Annie, hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
