PhotoHunt: Surprise

Life would be so dull without those unexpected and delightful surprises that make us smile, quiver and/or bring out as Anne from her cool blog,Let us go then you and I, wonderfully puts it, the inner child in us.

The surprise look on a child when he hears music start to play one cool morning in the park . . .

A surprise visitor near our campsite in the Yosemite . . .

A surprise snow ball fight breaks out 10,000 feet high on a mountain top near Lucerne, Switzerland. Snow was flying and people were sliding and it was great "inner child" fun for all.(He, he) . . .

  2. Hi Annie, I love surprises and I'm glad you liked my little collection. Notice it wasn't a close-up of the bear. :) And the snow ball fight was very fun. I love that boy's expression too! He started to dance right after hearing the music. Too cute...

Got up kind of late today and I can tell it's going to be a sizzler...but it's Saturday, there's no work and that's always a good start for a weekend. :) Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday so far. Have a great Sunday tomorrow too!

  3. Kathy,
    Great choices for the theme!
That child is so adorable, he put a smile on my face, and I could just kiss his face.

Is that a bear? Whoao! I am always terrified of bear encounters when hiking and camping in bear country. At a safe distance, it is pleasant surprise.

I love snow ball fights after the first snow of the year.

  8. Hi everyone, thanks so much for your comments...

Baked Alaska, glad you liked my surprises!

Candi, that little boy is very cute! His face just lit up. And yes, that was a bear and the first one I've seen in the wild. At first we were like oh how cute, and then it moved and we froze. Of course, that didn't stop us from snapping his photo as he walked away.

Menehune, it looked like a really small bear so initially I wasn't afraid, up until it started to move that is. Its' weekends like this that I kind of wouldn't mind a snow fight! It was sizzling this past weekend. :)

Leslie, glad you liked my photos. :)

Jerry, thanks for your comments. That expression says it all, doesn't it. So cute!

Girasoli, glad you liked my photos! I also love that little boy's expression.

Thanks again everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.

  9. Wonderful photos, Kathy! The expression on that child's face is priceless.

And I love the bear shot -- and the fact you didn't try to get closer to him. My family always camped in the Rockies when I was growing up and I have a very healthy respect for bears!

  10. Hi Sandra, thanks so much for your comments. I love that little boy's expression too.

I think after that encounter I have developed a respect for bears too. While setting up camp the more seasoned members in our group kept telling us about the bears and the need to put all the food and items like even our toothpast in the bear box...and we were thinking that they were just trying to scare us, but then when we saw this bear come down near our camp in broad daylight we put everything (even our chewing gum) in the bear box!

That must have been such a great experience growing up and being able to go camping like that.

Thanks again Sandra and have a great evening!
