PhotoHunt: Garbage

When I think of the word Garbage, nothing beautiful or very cool came to mind. Up until I looked through my travel photos that is. Here is my beautiful collection of Garbage can photos. And I decided to post more than one because once I got started on my hunt, I couldn't stop. :)

In the beautiful Old Town Square in Prague . . .

Near a beautiful lake in Halstatt, Austria . . .

A total of three in this beautiful and quaint little campo in Venice . . . .

Next to a stage full of beautiful flowers during an annual Celebration in Madrid . . . .

An overstuffed Garbage holder in the Latin Quarter in beautiful Paris . . .

Tucked in the corner of a small walkway in the beautiful Italian town
of San Gimignano . . .

Next to a coffee cart in front of the beautiful architecture of the Westminster Abbey in London . . .

And to keep things clean and beautiful here at home . . . .

  1. Good morning Kathy, this is such an awesome take on the theme! Garbage cans are important to keep all these amazing places looking so beautiful! I can understand why you couldn't stop since you kept finding such wonderful photos in your collection (I bet it was fun to look!).

Happy Saturday and have a great weekend!

  2. Hi Annie, glad you liked my photos. It was very fun...and who knew that one day the photos that I took with garbage cans in them would be of great use to me. :) I loved your theme photo a lot. Protecting our environment is so important.

I'm hoping I'll make some money today. Won't be enough to pay for my airfare to Scotland, but then again every little bit helps and I'll be decluttering. :)

Have a great Saturday too! Hope all goes well with Maria and Buddy. I'm sure it will.

  4. Hi Jerry, glad you liked my take and photos! :) I think only travel could have inspired me to use the word "Beautiful" and "Garbage" in the same sentence. :)

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Good collection of garbage cans. I like the diversity that you posted. A wide variety of countries and shapes.

I've been too diligent at keeping them out of my pictures and I couldn't find anything that had a can or some other type of garbage this week so I'm passing.

  9. Hi Kathy, trash cans never looked quite as beautiful as they do in your photos! What a great way to look at this week's theme.

I especially like the one in San Gimignano, it seems to just kind of blend in. And as Annie says, these beautiful places wouldn't look so good if we didn't have garbage containers.

  10. Hi Everyone, thanks so much for all of your comments.

Marta, glad you liked the diversity of my photos. Once I had the idea I was amazed at all the photos from my recent travels that has a garbage can in it. :) You are such a great photographer I'm totally not surprised you couldn't find a garbage can in any of your pictures. Hope I'll get to see your photo choice next weekend. :)

Candi, glad you liked all of my photos. All my garbage can photos from the beautiful places I've had the pleasure of visiting finally pays off for me. :)

Leslie, thank you so much. Glad you like my photos for the week. :)

Menehune, hey you just never know! Now, it will have to become tradition now for me to take at least one photo with a garbage can in it for my collection! :)

Nancy, glad you liked my photos. I'm surprised that I found so many too. Sometimes I look at the forest and not the trees when I'm taking photos. For example, I saw the beautiful lake in Halstatt and probably didn't even notice the garbage can or even that couple. :) I tend to find so many surprising things in the frame of my shots when I get home and sometimes I get the biggest kick out of them...

Sandra, glad you liked my photos and take on the theme. I love that San Gimignano shot too. And I almost didn't notice that trash can until I saw the reflectors on them. And yes they are so important as they help to keep places clean and beautiful for us to enjoy when we go to visit.

Thanks again everyone for your kind comments. I'm a little late in posting and replying as I had a big garage sale this weekend. Talk about garbage... :)Have a great day everyone!
