Italy is on my mind . . .

Girasoli was recently there, Leslie has been posting some beautiful photos from her trips there, Sandra is currently blogging from one of the beautiful towns, Anne is on her way in 10 Days, MarĂa is leaving in 19 days and Annie will be there in December!

So as much as I really love my trip to Spain as you can see, Italy has been on my mind . . . I am really happy about their trips because I also get to enjoy being in Italy vicariously through their awesome experiences! Happy planning girls! Whoo hoo!

  1. Thanks Kathy! It's funny because I've got Spain on my mind thanks to you! I've been checking my local PBS station looking for that Spain food show and haven't found it yet. I figure that even if they don't show it around here, it will come out on DVD soon and I can rent it.

And I love your post about music too. Can't wait to hear more about what you hear while you are there. 45 days!!!

It is pretty cool how much vicarious and real traveling we all have to look forward to!

  2. Gosh I wish I was there now. :)

It's tricky coordinating other people - that is, Alessandro. :)

  3. Hi Annie, :) that is funny! The On the Road Again show has still not been scheduled on our PBS station here either. Maybe it'll come out in October. It does look really entertaining so I am looking forward to it. Maybe I'll get more ideas or learn a few pointers!

I totally love the music in Spain and I'm going to try to find some great CD's to bring home as souvenirs and gifts to myself! :)

I enjoy reading about everyone's travels. It makes me so happy hearing about everyone's experiences and in a way it also gets me excited about my own trip. So much fun!

    Have a great evening Annie!

And about coordinating other people :) . . . I know you'll be able to pull it off and I look forward to hearing all about it.

    Have a great week!

  6. Hi Girasoli, thanks for your comments. Your trip was great for my Italy fix during the summer . . .

I also can't wait to get there too. And I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and living it. Have a great evening!

  7. This post put a smile on my face. A few months ago I was beginning to plan my trip to Spain and I couldn’t get Italy out of my mind. I knew I had to somehow go to Italy before stepping on Spanish soil. I thought I was shortchanging Spain by going to Venice first but somehow everything worked out and I get to go to both countries.
I’m sure that so many of the sights will remind me of something I read in your trip report, or of Annie’s wonderful and informative posts and Girasoli’s pictures of Venice. Connecting with Anne in Venice will be an amazing event and I know we’ll have a grand time. I hope we remember to take lots of pictures and maybe blog while there.
    Have a great evening, Kathy!

  8. Italy sure is on my mind these days! I cannot wait to be in Florence next week. Eek, next week?! Wow the date is sneaking up on me. Of course lately my mind's been preoccupied by hissy fits ;)

And it will be so much fun to meet up with Maria, plus I'll be spending a night in London with 2 of my half-brothers (I've an overnight layover on the way home).

But as Annie said, my mind's also on Spain because of your wonderful entries! And also from sharing my mom's photos and memories from her trip last spring. Your date is also creeping up - 43 days, that will go by so soon!

  9. Hi Maria, thanks for your comments. I think it is so cool that you are visiting both Italy & Spain. I know you're going to have a great time in both countries. And I am looking forward to hearing all about your experiences.

I think it is so fantastic that you'll be connecting with Anne in Venice! I know that you will both have such a great time exploring and finding all the great things that Annie has posted about and also all the photos from Girasoli, Leslie and yours truly :) . . .

Take lots of photos and blog if you can. The main thing is that you both use your time to enjoy yourselves. Make sure to enjoy a prosecco or two for me! Ha, ha!

    Have a great evening Maria!

  10. Hi Anne, wow next week you'll be in Florence! How exciting for you. No worries about the hissy fit. I think your post was so wonderful because to me it really defines true friendship. And I really like how you are so honest with your feelings.

I am so looking forward to hearing about your experiences in Florence and Venice with Maria. I really think you two will have so much fun together! Its also great that you'll have time in London to visit with your half-brothers.

I remember your comments about your mom's trip to Spain and it's a big reason why I made sure to add Toledo as a day trip from Madrid. I'm so glad that I'm going to get to see it in person.

Only 8 days to go for you . . . Have a great weekend Anne!

And I just called Alessandro and asked him to pick up my new ice cream ingredient - buttermilk.
