Don't count your chickens . . . .

Well, I'm just now recovering from the recent booting of Rocker Nurse Amanda from the American Idol top 10 finalists! I think that her performance was better than Kristy, but the popular vote knocked her off. Although I didn't think that she was going to ultimately win Idol, I really like Amanda for her hard edged singing! Unfortunately, she got a little too ahead of herself by saying that she would give her fans a treat when they buy tickets to see her! Sometimes the popular vote is all in the perception (in addition to the talent) and making that statement was like counting her chickens before they hatched! Honestly, I think she said it not to be cocky or over confident but because she really wants her audience to have a good time when she performs. Nothing wrong with that! Too bad, because it would have been really interesting to see her perform other types of genres like maybe a slow ballad or an R&B classic!

No surprise that David A. and David Cook made it through as I think they are the top male singers in the group. I think Jason Castro is a close third with Michael Johns in 4th.

Another shocker was seeing Carley in the bottom 3! Wake up America! This girl has some serious talent. I think Carley has to start selecting better songs though. My top two females are Carely and Brooke. I think Brooke has the talent and the likeability factor. I don't know that I have a third choice, but if I had to choose it would be Ramiele. Big talent in a small package!

Well, that's my recap! Keep on rocking AI!

  1. Carley has an amazing voice but I don't like her at all (not sure why!). Brooke is my favorite female but overall, I think the guys are stronger this year. I really like Chiekeze (not sure how to spell that) too.

Hope you had a nice Easter holiday!

  2. Hi Annie, Easter was great. I hope you had a nice Easter as well!

I didn't realize you watch AI too. That's great! You're right about the guys being stronger this year. I think it can come down to the two Davids and Brooke in the final three! But maybe I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch too! (he, he!)

You're not going to believe this but your Tar Heels will be playing my Alma Mater the Washington State Cougars on Wednesday night. But I'm still cheering for your team to win!

  3. Oh my goodness, you went to Washington State! That's too funny. I hope that you give my Tar Heels some good luck by pulling for them!

  4. I know! Isn't that a coincidence! I didn't even know the Cougs were doing so well this year. When I was there, our teams were never that great. Although we did beat UCLA on National TV once and that was pretty much the highlight. But as soon as I graduated, WAZZU made it to the Rose Bowl twice!

    Enjoy the game tonight Annie!

  5. Hi Kathy,

Well I sure was relieved to see my Heels pull out a victory. Washington St plays very good defense. I like their coach too! But Carolina was too much for them in the end. It was a good game!

Now we have to play Louisville and I'm nervous about that one too.

    Have a good weekend! Annie

  6. Hi Annie,

Congratulations! The best team definitaly won. I came home too late last night so I missed the game. But I am so glad your heels won! As for my Cougs ... well, there's always next year! :)

Good luck on your next match up with Louisville. I'll keep cheering for your Tar Heels!

    Enjoy your weekend too!

  7. Hi Kathy, just checking in to see what you think of AI. Right now, it looks like the two David's are the front-runners with Michael Johns right behind them. Wonder if it will be an all-guys Top Three?

Not sure what to think about the girls. Sayesha has been strong the past couple of weeks.

  8. Hi Annie, I'm so glad you're an AI fan.

I agree with you. I think this could end up being a contest between the dueling David's. I really like David A and I think David C is brilliant (although not quite up there with Prince yet). I really like Michael Johns too, but he's not consistent.

Although I was a little disappointed with Brooke's performance last night I still really like her and think she is probably the most talented among the girls so I hope she makes it through. Carley finally picked the right song last night, but like Michael she's not consistent.

I'm not sure who's going out tonight. Could be Ramiele or Jason.

I would like to see the Dueling Davids, Brooke, Michael and Carley in the final 5 but who knows how the public will vote.

Now, off to watch the results... I get so nervous watching! :) Have a good evening!

  9. No big surprise to see Ramiele leave - seemed like the right choice.

I agree completely with your Final 5. I'll be curious to see if that's what happens!

But both Jason and Kristy Lee seem to have followings. Sayesha is a wild card too.

I liked Jason a lot in the beginning but he seems to be doing the same thing every week. He needs to do something to wow people!

Brooke is still my favorite girl but I don't think she's quite as strong as either of the Davids.

It's fun to watch it all unfold!
